Was wondering if any of you Photoshop wizards could throw me up the embroidery that was on the shirts in the 2005 CL final, want to get a plain 2005 shirt and then take it down to a local sewing company and get them to stitch it on. Would appreciate this SO MUCH!!!

The rest isn't your own work because the two liverbirds holding the ball and scarf are Kitsters work.

All you've done is cut them out and added them onto a background and added text.

Atleast give credit mate because it is a great idea, but the very talented artists on here have had previous work stolen and people have claimed that it is theirs when it isn't, before.

C'mon mate that's porkies, those liverbirds carrying balls are not yours, they're by kitster - you may not of knew who did the original but you know it wasn't you, don't credit yourself when you've clearly done another cut/paste/cutout job. You can take credit for construction of a piece but not for the original artwork.

Someone asked me to do a particular kind of piece for them and it ended up with me using pics of liverbirds i found via google - even tho at the time i didn't know who did them originally i made it quite clear they weren't mine (http://www.redandwhitekop.com/forum/index.php?topic=198423.msg8741360#msg8741360). Personally I wouldn't use other people's work - the aforementioned was as a favour for someone else.

I'm not saying it's wrong or to be avoided, that's down to individual choice, but you can't claim it as your own and if a piece of work that someone else has done is included in a picture you construct/design, at the least the other person should be credited and for me even if you can't cos you don't know who did it, it should be stated that the 'liverbird or whatever' is the work of someone else. (really ideally you should ask permission to use other people's work but i know that's not always possible if, like you probably did, found them on the net with no clear author)

I don't think the photoshop thread guys are pedantic but if we smell bullshit, we're gonna call it. Just play it straight mate and then there's no fuss or bad rep being built.

EDIT: oops, just saw JMc's post - anyway, probably worth stating twice, but honestly we're not pedantic, no really, we're not.....

Oh and on a side note, i've never seen that main piece before of the manc devil shitting himself at the liverbird - MacPhisto did you finish it in the end mate cos it looks fucking great (we didn't win the league, so maybe no?)

Whoops didnt clock that MacPhisto had posted about it, teach me to read the thread properly.

I dont get the whole ripping stuff off and passing it off as your own, I've done copies of stuff myself, one in particular a copy of a Glenn Barr piece from the inlay of a Funkdoobiest CD - which doobie u b, but just for me because I liked it, but everyone who see's it loves it and goes nuts over it, and I have to tell them its not mine, yeah painted it but its a copy and it bugs me no end that I have to explain it, but I dont want to take credit for someone elses work, the idea feels really filthy. It doesnt compare at all to the feeling you get when you actually have done something and people like it and give praise.

Ok hang on we seem to be getting our wires crossed here. Im not claiming the artwork I was unaware that the lads on here were the original designers. The pictures seem to have gone full circle. I think we can all agree the liverbirds in the background are a very well known design, im am not, nor have I ever claimed to be the original designer of it. They are templates I used to make the picture, thats all. I just added a couple of things. I dont engage in plagiarism, apologies

There aren't very many examples of a illustrated liverbird floating about the net or Google images, so whenever I've decided to post one up, everytime it's been a WIP and not nearly representative of what the final work would be like. The only thing that really bothers me about people using them is that they are unfinished. Other than that, the fact if someone were to take that unfinished work and actually make money from it, well, that's something else that would really fuck me off and it's mostly the reason why I don't post up work that's had a bit of effort put into it. Don't get me wrong, I fully intend to. I don't mind if supporters of this club like what they see and it gets spread about the net or onto people's desktops or phones. But selling it or claiming it as their own? It happens. In most cases there's not a terrible amount you can do about it (anyone who posts on DeviantArt knows that), but it won't put me off putting the odd bit of work out now and again and not for any kind of financial gain, but to decorate the club. I wouldn't mind working on a big custom banner either.

Oh, and to answer your question, Armand: I've not finished that yet. I recently dragged all unfinished work out of my folders and stored the rest on an external, so everything I will be working on once I get a new PC built will be to finish stuff I left undone. My new monitor should also help a good bit. The contrast ratio and size of it really shows up a lot of flaws in some work, especially when it comes to blacks.
