hopefully it wont be necessary as its unlikely they will be coming out to attack so i guess we will have to be creative to break them down.

A very strong bench tonight. And very attacking, too, should we need them.

Decent enough starting XI, obviously Torres is the main omission - but he can't be fully fit even if he's over his injury as he's barely trained in a month.

Shame Kewell's also not quite ready, but expect to see him on at some stage.

dunno about that. It's weird not seeing Finnans name on there.. really is. Interesting to see the Aurelio/Riise thing again.. I kind of like that. Aurelio + Crouch etc.

oooh, the team could go either ways. i just hope to god it goes our way. the lack of pace is apparent, but i think the midfield has to click for our possession to convert into goals.

and i think kewell is going to come in to make an impact. other substitutes depend on how the match is going.

At least when Crouch plays we have someone to lump it to, rather than Sami's Jonny Wilkinson touchfinders. Come on you red men. Wanted to see Kewell play but I still think we'll win, even if it isn't pretty.

Apart from Finnan and Agger (still out) the back 4 is probably our best .

Not sure what Riise is going to do, he has been poor in my opinion lately, but liking the rest of midfield, and im so glad to see Crouch again, and hopefully goals from him and Voronin, because Kuyt has also been poor in my opinion.

Hope we don't need Torres and can use him against Fulham.

I'm very confident that we'll win this game, there's so much at stake. I expect us to play high-tempo football for the first 20 minutes or so and hit them hard when they are in possession, i even think we'll get a goal or 2 in the first half. I'm surprised that Torres is in the squad but we do need him, it's a big risk rushing him back from injury though. Maybe Rafa will only bring him on if we are struggling in the second half. It's good to see Crouch starting, he will get about the Beşiktaş defence and cause them problems.

2 or 3-0 to the Mighty Reds in europe.

Would've liked Arbeloa in Hyypia's place, but I must admit, those 2 fullbacks look scrumptous. Made up Crouchie is starting as well.
