Hi folks,
we've just booked a trip to Liverpool from 14. Feb-18 Feb 2008.
As easyjet obviously quit the route Cologne-Liverpool we have to come via Manchester. Can anyone help us with information how to get from Manchester Airport to Liverpool (6 persons) without having to pay a fortune?

Any tips are very much appreciated.

National express coaches run hourly I think, and will cost roughly 6 quid each. Also the train will probably be around the same price.

Train is probably easiest fella. www.thetrainline.co.uk is a good place to start though if there's 4 or 5 of you a pre booked taxi will probably cost you around €50 and is almost as cheap per head as the train.

Train is probably the best way, about £10 each return.

You can also get a taxi for about £40 each way but I'm not sure if you can arrange one to carry 6 people.

Sorry Lahs, been a while since I got the train to manchester airport and I have a railcard. Just checked, it's £9.90 each way.

Taxi definitely works out cheaper if you can get one to carry 6 people.

I'm sure if you come on here the week before and ask someone local to book it for you someone can sort it out.

Anyone know if delta/ other firms do 6 people taxi?

£12.60 saver return. Go onto www.virgintrains.co.uk and you can check out the fares there. Saver returns can be purchased on day of travel so no need to buy in advance.

Sarah the £9.90 each way is if you buy seperate single tickets.

i found a private taxi company that will take us to liverpool and back to manchester for 80 quid.
good offer for 6 people as they drop us off right in front of the door of our hotel. and we even save the money for one or two taxis taking us from the station to our hotel.

Heyho. I'll be in Liverpool too from Feb 21 st until Feb 24 th with some colleagues from work..anyone of you there? It's not LAHS, Ulli and the boys, but Ulli and some other funny drinking people

hard times...two weekends Liverpool...will be interesting...let's hope that in next Uefa Cup round we have a match in England!

As our plane will hopefully arrive at 8:30 pm in Manchester we'll be in Liverpool not earlier than 10. I think it'll be the Everyman then. A couple of cains seem to be a good start.

Yeah you can - most Taxi firms will send people carriers if you've got 6 people.

as I mentioned already we found a minibus company taking the 6 of us for £80 return.

But as you can see on top of this topic I told everyone that we'll be coming over last year in October already. Have a good time in Portugal though. I hope we'll meet again some day for a little singsong either in Liverpool or in Germany. Take care.
