To all Beşiktaş supporters, pretty sure we sung 'You'll never walk alone' for you, because we respect you.

Its not easy to come to Anfield for any side, but we had to win last night, i mean really had to. We have been criticised a lot lately by fans and media alike, so the pressure was on.

Having been in the Iononu 2 weeks ago, we were sad to lose that game, but the Beşiktaş support lifted us, espescially at the end when Beşiktaş sang to us and we had to sing back. I will never forget that or all of the fans before and after the game giving Liverpool so much respect.

You will never walk alone friends, and we thank you for all of your kind messages and support. I personally would love to come to Istanbul again and witness what i witnessed, so keep in touch.

Thanks  :)

I have not been to Beşiktaş match in Istanbul for years. I am planining to go to one of those Galatasaray or Fenerbahce match for even for a day. The matches will be Inonu. If you wish to arrange the travel with few Liverpool supporters let me know. We might arrange something.

Guys I am a Liverpool fan and I am Turkish. I live in Kazakhstan. I was in Dortmund, I was in Istanbul in 2005, I was in Athens last year... I went to Istanbul for Beşiktaş game too. I wasnt with our fans but in Director's box. It is risky - even in protocol to have a red scarf you know. Beşiktaş fans are not like regular spectators but professional fanatics. They dont pay for tix, but get paid to do what they do. They are not exaclty linked with Galatasaray but they are close. Their common enemy is Fenerbahce, whose fans - I am sure were supporting Liverpool in GS and BJK games. As Fenerbahce is doing much better than them they are getting more angry every week... 8-0 will be a turning point for us in the PL and CL - I believe, but still is a sad story for any football club in the world.
hello,
on my way to athens i met two guys from kazakhstan in the istanbul airport. i wonder if one of them is you :)

Of course it's not disgraceful ... we expect teams to play for 90 minutes - that's what we pay our money for. It would be disrespectful to the fans to stop playing and it would be disrespectful to the opposition to treat them as anything other than full time opponents.

If we beat Marseille 1-0 the group will go down to goal difference
And on the pedestal these words appear:

Beşiktaş are absolutely falling apart.

Red card, playing 10-a-side losing 1-2 at home to cap probably the worst week anyone could ever have.

Thumping in the Champions League sandwiching losses to two teams around them in the league.

Their fans are still singing though.

it was a hard week for our players. i'm pretty sure they didnt want to play yesterday but they had to. even though we were 1-0 ahead, their minds were at the loss in Anfield and lost the match 1-2. our supporters booed the management and some of the players who have played heartless in the game.
hope we gather immediately and qualify to the next round in CL and take points in Turkish Super League. btw good luck to Liverpool for the next matches.

Yeah thats probably what happened.

But also I think their minds were back at the Fenerbahce game when they came to Anfield. All the talk was about referees, Turkish Football Federation presidents, and disallowed goals.

The manager's job is to make the players forget a bad loss, write it off, and move on to the next game.

I think Beşiktaş has been living in the last game for 2 games now.

I can't remember ever seeing a group like this.

All 4 clubs can go through on the last day.

We need a win most important but I wouldn't be opposed to see Beşiktaş beat Porto to put us top and Beşiktaş 2nd in the group.

Win, win all over.

Well done again mates. 1 to go now. My guess (actually my dream) is you beat Marseille and we beat porto and qualify together. Beating porto in their ground is not easy for us, cause to be honest we are not playing so well. We werent that good last night either. But who knows, this is football...

Marseille - Liverpool : 0-3
Porto - Beşiktaş: 1-2

Liverpool:10
Beşiktaş:9
Porto:8
Marseille:7

Wouldn't that be great? I know its not easy, but not impossible though. We'll see.

Well, now that i already started dreaming, just let me dream on a bit: We both qualify, then we both go all the way to the semis. Then you beat Arse and we beat Chelsea and we meet again in the final. And we beat you 5-4  ;) :D

Good luck to you and good luck to us.

I wish Beşiktaş'll beat Porto in Portugal and Liverpool beat Marseille in France and we'll qualify to the next round together. we must beat Porto though because even a draw is not enough for UEFA Cup. I hope Liverpool and Beşiktaş play again but this time we beat Liverpool in the final.

My guess/wish for the next matches:
Porto-Beşiktaş:1-2 or 0-1
Marseille-Liverpool: 0-2 or 1-2

good luck to you and to us.

Hopefully Group A will be like this:
Liverpool: 10 (Next round)
Beşiktaş: 9 (Next round)
Porto: 8 (UEFA Cup)
Marseille: 7 (Eliminated)

I don't speak or understand Turkish but there wasn't much variation to what they chanted, it all sounded like just a couple of lines repeated ad nauseum. A bit like away fans at Anfield giving it 'someone, someone' s multi-coloured army', a bit banal and more irritating than intimidating. You could have heard a shish being vomited when Gerrard scored.  The good thing about the game was that it was played in a good spirit and Beşiktaş, though limited, took advantage of the good fortune that was going on the night. The rest of the CL competition is going to be fun. Keep the faith!

Stewie Griffin: Fine, then, I'll go by myself. See you from the back of my milk carton. Want that on your conscience, Brian? Try explaining this to Lois. You'll wind up in a Dumpster with a bunch of slow, unadoptable greyhounds.
Brian Griffin: Don't joke about that! That's like the Holocaust to us!
Stewie Griffin: Yeah, well, when greyhounds start running The New York Times and the World Bank, I'll be more inclined to believe you.
u been on the glue lad? 20 league goals in your first season as well as being injured for a few games obviously isnt good enough for you. you may as well sit in the stretford end sunday..........

Unfortunately Beşiktaş´away match record is quite poor (the match in Liverpool didn´t help that much). But I hope we will win in Porto, especially after our rather crappy and undesereved 0-1 home defeat against them. Marseille really isn´t that strong a team - they have a lot of problems right now. You guys should win easily in France and I am pretty sure you will go through to the next round.

Some teams are made for knockout matches and struggle in group stages. I think Liverpool will get back to business as usual once they are through to the last 16 (together with Beşiktaş of course) :)

i hope that liverpool will go to the next round , but not with a win over marseille! It makes us the leader of the group even "8-0" , which never done never seen!

So Porto 0-1
     Marseille 1-1 Liverpool

Liverpool has to beat Marseille to qualify, cause when 2 teams have equal points, it is the two games between those two teams that counts, not overall goal difference. So, since OM beat LFC 0-1 in the first game, a draw in the coming match means OM will qualify, not LFC.

Actually, in the scenario he quoted, we'd go through.  Liverpool, Marseille and Porto would all be on 8 points.  In the head to heads, Marseille would beat Liverpool, Porto would beat Marseille and Liverpool would beat Porto.  So it would go to goal difference, and we'd be through by the skin of our teeth.  It's all hypothetical though since we're going to put six past the frenchies :)

ooops, sorry maybe i was wrong. If we beat porto and OM-LFC draw, then we'll have 9 points and other 3 will have 8. Then:
Between Porto-OM => porto is ahead (1-1 ; 2-1)
Between Porto-LFC => LFC is ahead (1-1 ; 1-4)
Between OM-LFC => OM will be ahead in case of a draw (1-0 ; draw)

Then what? Do they look at the overall goal difference? If so, LFC will qualify thanks to our 8-0 disaster:)

When somebody uses the word "if" so much (if this happens, if that happens etc.), then there is a saying in Turkish: If my aunt has bollocks, she would be my uncle. But how can we translate this in an understandable and meaningful way for our Liverpudlian mates:)))

Well, in summary, i realy dont care how, as long as we both qualify.

It would be nice to see Beşiktaş qualify along with us actually even though both our qualifications are far from certain at the moment.

I do believe they might just be able to put one or two teams out if they make it to the knockouts because of the atmosphere at the Inonu.  They might be able to get a draw away and then beat the opponents at home.  You never know.
Quote from: Dion Fanning

The chants for Kenny Dalglish that were heard again on Wednesday do not necessarily mean that the fans see him as the saviour. This is not Newcastle, longing for the return of Kevin Keegan. Simply, Dalglish represents everything Hodgson is not and, in fairness, everything Hodgson could or would not hope to be.

Whats that song called because all I can ever find is that Carsi?

i can translate it. but when i translate it, it will seem scattering to you. Because you dont know Turkish. So you cant understand that. It is diffirence of Turkish and English cultures.

OLEY = i can say it means "go" .. more related mean of it in english.
BEŞİKTAŞIM = i can say it means "my love Beşiktaş". ..

i hope , i could explained it with my worse english.
