Can you get Sky Digital with a Virgin landline?

Has anyone else done this?

Do you mean can you plug the phone line from the sky digibox into a virgin phone line? If so, then yes.

If you mean can you get sky through virgin cable network then no.

You can't get sky tv (sports or otherwise) through the phone line... no.

Not suggesting I can get it through a phoneline.

Sky is provided via a satellite and updates sent via phoneline so means I can get Sky Digital (meaning I get Sky One) and no need for a BT line!

Ditto, Virgin everything (BBand, TV, Phone etc) and SKY+ in the front room with the Sports package on it for the footy. With a Virgin landline. Had it for over a year now. Relaxed the BT Landline thingy about a year or more ago.

Sky+ is excellent btw - well worth recommending it.

Slight aside but similar theme.

Moving our business to a new office - 29000 sq feet. Fitting out the office in open plan - all grey and white and minimalistic and being the caring employers we are looking for a really good staff rest area - pool tables, plasma screens etc.

Landlord is a twat though - no dish on the building. I'm told you can't get Sky on cable for business users - other than a free standing dish on a pole - any bright ideas of how to get Sky into commercial premises without a dish?

Would you get away with something like http://cpc.farnell.com/jsp/search/productdetail.jsp?sku=SE00465&N=411

Or maybe a digiglobe which looks a lot better but not sure what channels it would be able to pick you, you might need to do some research on it http://www.digicams-uk.com/prod30.htm

Easiest option would probably be slingbox from home http://uk.slingmedia.com/ but PQ probably wouldn't be great unless you have a decent upstream.

We've just got a simple freeview box linked to a Plasma. No live sports but hey, better than nothing right?

didn't cost me a penny, got my sky + box (basic 2 mixes), sky talk (free evening and weekend calls) and sky broadband (8 meg) for £20 a month (no contract) all in

Sky+ box cost me £49 and they waived the installation fee. Getting the whole Sky world package for the first month for £21 (all 6 mixes with sports and movies) and then get to choose what I want to continue with after that. Got the Broadband max aswell (16mb download speed and unlimited downloads) for £10 and the Sky talk max (unlimited free calls to landlines in UK and 10 international destinations) for £5.

got my brother in law a w880i phone 500 texts 500 anytime minutes for £20 a month (12 month contract with O2) cos he was coming to the end of his current one, just found a deal online by vodaphone offering two phones at the same price he was paying with O2 (£35) at roughly the same deal. They said they couldn't offer two phones but we'll see what we can do, came back saying we can give you (see above) for £20 a month.
