Thames Valley Supporters Club
« on: September 11, 2007, 01:45:07 PM »
Hi. Sorry if this is the wrong forum.

I know some time ago (about 3 years) there was details left on here for the Thames Valley Supporters club. At the time I tried to contact them with no success but as i'm now in a position where I can afford to get up to Liverpool more often i'd like to join the supporters club again.

Basically does anybody know how to contact the Thames Valley supporters club?

Thanks in advance

Cheers Red Star. I had seen that but if I remember from when I last looked that was quite out of date (although I have emailed Anthony asking for his help)

Hello

I live in Reading and use the Thames Valley coach regularly.  The coach runs from Reading station & a park & ride in Oxford (Redbridge).  Takes about 4.5-5hrs to get to Anfield.

It goes to all weekend home league games, and it costs £24 coach only or + the match ticket.  It's normally pretty full, but I think Ant normally welcomes new members.

Contact details for Ant are correct.

Thanks Dan. I've emailed Ant so hopefully he'll get back to me. Is there a joining fee for the club?

Why don't you ring Ant? Takes all the doubt out of it I would have thought.

I think it was £5 per season.

Anyone know if this club is still active? Emailed the address listed on the .tv site to enquire about joining a few weeks ago but had nothing back. Would be really useful to get coach travel next season from Reading.

I use the Thames Valley coach for every weekend home game.  Give Ant a call on 01252 524669, as he doesn't always pick up his emails quickly.

Cheers, will give him a bell then.

Do they run coaches only for the weekend home games?

Unfortunately so, as he can't get enough demand to run coaches midweek.

I got my renewal notice through from Ant a couple of weeks ago, £5 members fee & £26 for coach only + match ticket.  Same drill as before, weekend home games only.  2 pick ups, 1 from Reading station & the other at Redbridge Park & Ride in Oxford.  0815 pick up from Reading for 3pm games & earlier/later according to kick off times changed for TV.  Coaches are not normally full.

His phone no is the same as before.  Give him a call if you need to know anything else.

A group of us drive from Southampton, pick up in Reading, then through Oxford and onto the M40. Normally have a free space in the car if you're interested for next season.

Normally 2 cars go to every home and most aways from Bexhill,we go M40 Oxford services.Normally a space or 2!

I contacted Ant a couple of weeks ago, as I have been using the Thames Valley coach for quite a few years now from Reading & hadn't heard his plans for this season.  Use either of these emails or mobile number to contact Ant

Dan, is he still planning to run a coach for every home game ?

I had heard a rumour that all supporters clubs had had their allocations cut drastically.

I heard they didn't get any allocation at all and had to buy in the bulk members sales like the rest of us?

How many tickets does the Thames Valley club usually get per game to distribute to its members?

From what I remember when I used to use it, and this was many years ago, it was about at least 20 for every home game. But from what I have heard, and seen the odd times I have been on the coach recently, that is no longer case.

And if weebroalan and joel are correct, it is going to be lot harder to get one of their tickets from now on.

No they don't.  Ant is struggling to run coaches for all weekend home games.  As has been mentioned previously, the allocations for tickets for supporters clubs have been slashed.  He gets 2 guaranteed allocations per half a season (was Reading & Villa in 1st half & Swansea & Everton in the 2nd half).  All other weekend home games are done on a match by match basis & on the proviso that he gets enough people who have bought tickets themselves.

Contact Ant on 07740543727 for more details as I'm sure he would appreciate new members!
