Uberfan makes a statement that the boycott is a waste of time, and not going to be given a chance to follow it up?

Pretty sure Uberfan is Cally77/Blackie Gray and he has now been banned and I'm in the process of removing his shite from across the site - 60 posts of wind up drivel in a day since registering.

He's got a dynamic IP - he's also changed broadband supplier about three times ... uses anonymous email services as well.

wasn't around when he began posting but it's obvious what to look out for - No avatar, 5-10 'normal' posts followed by as many argumentative posts as he can fit in before someone gets sus' and the mods ban him.

Out of curiosity, what is his back story? Seems he's been doing this 3-4 times a month atleast since I've been on here and he certainly pre-dates that. Rival fan on a wind up or just something wrong in the head?

I think he's just wrong in the head.

Mouthing off on RAOTL a while back, pissed one lad off who PM'd him, only for Cally to out him on the board instead of taking him up on the offer.

Then a few days later in another arguement posts up his name is John White and bevies in so and so boozer. Lads also bevy in there and nobody by the name of John White in there.

He made Hillsborough references that got him banned from RAOTL the last time.

Internet trolls want shooting. My Da gets them on his forum all the time. You can delete their accounts, ban the IP Address and email address but they can just go off and pick different ones up in less than 5 minutes.

It was the thread from ages ago about Gerrard's exclusive interview following the world cup. Someone bumped it because there's an interview with Kenny in there today.

From what I saw it just led to the rehash "is the boycott against the NOTW aswell as the scum" type stuff.

I think Cally popped along to point out that there was no point boycotting the sun anymore, how we'd dented their sales etc. And should just accept their 'silly apology' and get on with it.

That's the last I saw of the thread, not sure if he said anything beyond that point 'cos I went to bed. Seemed to be editing alot his posts at the time though, so I'd imagine something else went on and a mod got rid of the thread.

We've had the NOTW over and over on here; for some, the two papers are completely separate entities, for others it's simply Sunday rebranding. Others go further and refuse to have Sky in their house. As for 'no point' continuing the boycott... not going to bother on that one. Self-evident issue and a clear windup.

That's my stance. NOTW is the sunday sun.

They get boycotted, and them alone. Diluting that is hitting the wrong targets, and takes away from the point, for me.

His IP changes all the time, so banning one IP means he can be back on under another as soon as he registers a new username.

As Rushian pointed out - he's changed his provider 3 times amongst other things, probably just to get on to the sites again. He's got serious issues.

And if not, then why buy the Sunday version of it? The NOTW is the Sunday S*n, just the same way as the Sunday Mirror is the Sunday version of the Daily Mirror, the Sunday Star etc.

There used to be a Sunday Sun available for a short time. I know cos i used to work in the newsagents and hide them all underneath the Sunday Mirrors so no one could find them to buy them

Not too sure how people can say they are one and the same paper when the sun DID have its own Sunday paper

The Sunday Sun is a regional paper for the North East, which you can sometimes find across the North and has been in circulation for donkeys years - it was first pubished in 1919 and is part of the Mirror group. Sure you're not getting confused?

Beacsue they share the same newsstands, and if an offer runs in the Sun during the week you often find that tokens have to be collected from the NOTW on the Sunday. The link is clear.

of course its the Sun on a Sunday. Otherwise why doesn't a massive selling tabloid have its own Sunday paper ? I can't believe anyone would think its seperate. As to the boycott of it, surely its a no-brainer. Its a shit paper and you wouldn't want to read it anyway, even if there were any moral doubt.

In a nutshell. Even without a boycott, it would be a poor choice of newspaper.

HAving seen a copy of "The Sunday S**" available at the same time as the NOTW, i had always assumed they werent actually sister papers.

Never buy tyhe NOTW anyways so my conscience is clear.
