Finished 2nd in the end, Torres league's top scorer with 42 (!!!!).

Had clear out in summer and sold Stevie to Real for £35m.....Xabi now says he's after a new challenge so may have to let him go too.

You spent a combined £11m on Gakpé and Monnet-Paquet and then sent them out on loan? Interesting...

I think you were raped, then robbed, and then they insulted you as they were walking away. Plenty of players of their ability at 10% of their price, or less. I've been hoovering up some good young talent on my new LFC game.

Quite happy with my transfer dealings so far - boxed off the Spanish U21 Capt too (centre half, can't remember his name off the top of my head) to come at the end of the season = one more season out of Hyypia and then he can go with a ready made replacement to come in.

The last one I owned was FM2005 and that was waaaaaaaaay slower than FM2008. I might be using a slightly smaller database size, but I think they've really improved the load and save times which were a real pain in the past.

I spent £12m on Renato Augusto and I can't play the bugger for three years until he gets a Belgium passport.

How good is Agger in the game?  Just starting the second season, he did alright in the first year but I've had an offer of £20m+, but if I accept it that would leave me with Carra, Sami and Maldini....not the most express three in the world.....?

Agger's good for me, as is Skrtel: I think they'll be first choice in my second season as Carragher's pace is starting to let him down on occasion.

My record with Chesterfield against teams below me in the league is truly awful.

That's something I've also noticed with Hereford. I was in the top 2 for almost the whole season, but always found it difficult to win against the likes of Macclesfield or Exeter who were at the bottom of the table or as in case of Exeter newly-promoted. I could go from twatting Crewe (top five-finish) 5-0 one week to scraping out a 1-1-draw by a injury-time equalizer against Dag&Red. At first, I thought it was because of what I said to the media before the game, but that really didn't make any difference.

My first season in League One is looking like it's going to be quite hard. I've won my first game against Tranmere 3-0, but then got twatted by Port Vale and Norwich. The biggest concern has to be the form of my top-forward Theo Robinson. He still managed 30 goals the season before, but was seriously struggeling in the second half of the year and this has continued now in League One. I'm tempted to give Dean Bowditch a chance who did well at the end of last season, but seemed to be more of an impact striker who finds it hard to score when he starts.

Garay is immense if you can get hold of him. I wouldn't really let Agger go if you only have those geriatrics as alternatives.

I won't buy Garay in the new game though his constant mistakes cost me a few points.

Fuck it, I'll keep Agger...can't be arsed finding a replacement for him.  Strengthened the attack in the summer (got Klose in to partner Torres), lets hope it's enough to kick on this season.

can anyone recommend any very young (16-22) left backs other than insua. have a very young barca squad with cassani abidal and di silvestri who can play there but i'm looking for a long term left back who has great potential. am close to signing armand traore but just wondered if there were any stand out young-uns. my squad average age will be about 22 at the end of this season

This game is just awful. Always after the moment where you want to stop playing, because your team completely pissed you off some magical stuff happens that makes you love them again. I'm 3-0 down to Crystal Palace at their place after about 30 minutes. I was about to go mental when Theo Robinson and Matty Done pull two back to make it 3-2 at halftime. After the break my guys keep chasing the game and have a shitload of chances. 72nd minute and it's a peno for me. George O'Callaghan steps up after having missed the last two or three and also failing to convert the follow up. I was prepared for another miss, but he makes it 3-3. Five minutes later Theo Robinson gets the ball after a brilliant direct move and makes it 4-3. I just love it.

I'm always somewhere between 9th and 14th in the league which is okay for my first season in L1 and have just beaten Kidderminster in the second round of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy. I'm out of the League Cup after a 3-0-defeat at Coventry. Currently, I haven't got any money to spend on transfers, but I'm 14K below my wage budget and the board would allow me to have about 500K for transfers with the wage bill being slightly above my current spendings on wages. However, I don't think there's much use at the moment in getting any new players. Got Sam Hutchinson from my parent club Birmingham. He's a decent right back, but nothing too special. Got Martin on loan from Liverpool and he looks useful even though he cost me one goal by catching a long ball and giving it straight to the striker... :(

Guillerme(sp?) he plays for the brazil under 19's side and his club side is Corinthians. Him and Insua are top class grow with each other and easy to rotate between.

For all those who are honing their skills in the lower leagues, try and get Adam McGurk in from Villa.

Scores goals for fun in the two lowest divisions. To be fair, he's still scoring goals for me in the Prem.

Also a few of Hearts Ukranian boys will go down to the lower leagues and a couple of their contracts run out midway through the first season so they'll come in and do a job.

Have scouted him, but no way will I be able to afford him. The scout said he wouldn't be interested in a move and would cost upto 1,2m Euros. And I don't want to take him on loan, because I have young strikers who need playing time myself... ;)

There's a young Italian lad who I've just signed (second season) who my scouts reckon will be a top Premier League left back. I'll fire the game up later and give you his name.

Luca Santonocito. He starts at Palermo but had moved to Udinese for £500k in mine before I bought him for £2m. Has the potential to be better than Insua (the best left back in my squad) according to my scout and could become a leading Premier League left back.

cheers for the advice lads. have bought armand traore whos still only 19 and have abidal aged 28 so theres no rush. might sign guilherme for about £5 million. i've almost completely turned around my squad. only valdes milito puyol abidal ronaldinho xavi and etoo are left and they're the only players 25 and over
