I had Pipex when I was in UK, and they were superb, although a mate of mine has just changed from them after his 12 months to go with Nildram and he says they are even better. If you are in a Telewest/NTL area, then they are worth a look cos they have a 1MB service now i believe. which is twice as fast as normal BB.

There is a boss comparison site, with forums etc - but i cant remember the name of it....gis 5 mins.  ;)

www.adslguide.org.uk/

lets you compare prices, speed, etc....people who are with all the various providers are surveyed each month, and so the results reflect truer.

Its a very good site.

Also comes with individual forums for each ISP so you can hear from each!

The one that is the equivelent contention ratio of AOL - in otherwords the one to look at. And its cheaper and better than AOSHITE

on the adslguide site,

go on compare, and select 6 companies you like the sound of, and it will give you customer ratings in speed, reliability, and customer service.

Then click on List and it will list all the ISP's, the speeds that they can do, and the prices for 512k, 1Mbps and 2 Mbps so you can see who is offering what. Then click on the names yer interested in to see the breakdowns of the prices for monthly, quarterly and yearly and any installation charges etc.

Then go to the forums for the 2 or 3 you have chosen and see what people are saying and ask any questions you have,

Job Done.

I thank you.

Looking at the site, id seriously look at Bulldog communications.....

They are doing....
512 =  £289.87
1 Mbps =  £349.87
2 Mbps  = £457.87

They also come out well on the customer ratings when compared against alot of the larger named companies such as Pipex, Nildram, BT, Telewest and Demon.

Have a look into them mate.

Just looked now, and Bulldog are having some serious problems.
They have asked people on the forum to compile questions for the company that they will forward on for them.

Alot seems to be based on the fact that they are offering a 2Mbps facility but have been over enrolled as the price was far less than anyone else was charging for that service. The demand has meant a loss in quality service and reliabilty.

If you have a couple of weeks b4 you buy, may be worth keeping an eye on how things pan out...a good company would issue apologies, and rectify the situation in due course.

Thanx Roper, I have also been looking at Zen, that seems to be one of the best.

To be honest with you mate....

Pipex still seem the best.

Prices are still the best for the 512Kbps...I can vouch for perfect service and speed, and looking through the pipex forum for the past 30 mins, there is very little in the form of serious repetitive complaints. In fact there is alot of praise, which is not seen in alot of the others.

Look at this mate:o

Do not get AOL, they won't even let you migrate to another provider and their broadband doesn't always work anywhere near as it should.

Their customer (hahahaha) service is well, fucking awful to be honest and i cancelled my contract.
