VDS couldn't handle benjani's toe poke from 12 yards, it's underated the toe poke & Taylor volleyed home the rebound.

Made up for the lads, but my God that wasn't a good performance. Aside from the brilliant assist, Crouchie was nowhere today. I expected more from Momo and Masch but we've now seen that they either need more playing time together or they cannot play together.

Today's match showed how much we miss Alonso I think. But I'm very pleased that we ground out a win as opposed to creating a zillion chances and losing. More of the same please Rafa. Btw 10/10 for the boss and his tactics today.

Yeah mate. I for one have given up watching Man Utd games this season.

They'll probably fluke the win again just like they did against Fulham, us, Lille, etc etc.

Does anyone know what the "WHERE'S BUGNER" sign at the match was in reference to? Few people have asked it but noone has really answered?
& its About time we came away with the 3 points despite not playing to our full potential.

To be fair to Crouch and Bellamy- they did fuck all because they had fuck all to work with. It was always going to be like that with Gerrard on the right and no Xabi in the middle. It only changed (like it changed in the Villa game) when Pennant came on, started skinning players and getting crosses in. I would have liked to have seen Pennant start today, but he got enough of the game to make a significant impact. I'll be surprised if he doesn't start against PSV.

Man U will get through this, unfortunately. They'll unleash a 2nd half hell-spree to make it 5-1.

Not great but 3 points. Two great goals and am glad that the first came from a break. As we don`t score many of those one must surmise that we played against a team that didn't put 10 men behind the ball!!

Great with 3 points, but I'm not sure we deserved it. It was good to see Arbeloa score. His run and finish was superb. Also good that Kuyt (finally) scored again. Gonzalez was probably the player who was most alive today, which was nice to see. I expected us to use Pennant earlier than we did, because Gonzalez pace was clearly a threat.

5 points down to Arsenal now. If we're really lucky, they will lose some more games and perhaps Bolton can steal 4th place from them. I say lucky because as much as I respect Arsenal's brand of football, I've always been surrounded by fans of theirs and a year out of the CL for them would suit me fine.

Bring on PSV!

The rest of the premiership teams could learn a thing or two from how
Pompey have started this game, getting stuck into them, not letting them
settle and most importantly one up at half time.

It was a fortunate win for us I think.

Playing Momo alongside Mascharano is defintiely a no no.

Well Done Pennant for coming back from that aweful pass just before the set up for Kuyt.

3pts....job done.
What I love about this, and several other of Kenny's press conferences, is that he manages to say something to the effect of  'Shut the fuck up, you fucking helmets and don't fuck with me or my football club or I'll make you eat your own balls', without actually using th

Moaning c*nts in that fucking thread.

Chuffed at the result, thats all that matters. c*nt of a place to go, not easy like some would have you believe, and we've come away with three points after a hard-earned victory.

If Man Utd or Chelsea done that, "thats how you win titles". When we do it, to some we're fucking lucky.

Do one.

YEP !!.......says it all for me, plus that goal will do wonders for Kuyts
confidence, just when he, and the team need it most.

BTW..just posted this in the The New Stadium forum:

Just got back from watching us beat Reading. Both BBC Northwest and Sy Sports News were there to see the few Reds who showed up at the pub watch the match. We were interviewed about what Texas Reds think of Hicks.

Anyroad..both news groups came over and interviewed Hicks. They went to the Dallas Stars and Texas Rangers games first.

BBC Northwest lads told us that the new Kop will be single tier and 18,000 seats.

Did not press them about total capacity of the new Anfield. As they can have their scoop when they get back.

Apparently the BBC Northwest will show their footage there locally. Sky Sports News said it might be Monday or Tuesday when they show their fotage of the interviews, etc.

Both  took pictures and interviews of me by my Car with my Y N W A plate...so now you'll see me...probably. lol

Btw..it was snowing in Dallas when Sky did their bit by my car..

Well in Dirk - I have to say Pennant was excellent too.

Results all gone our way - third should be ours.

Really hope the Mancs lose now and Chelsea beat them to the title.

Anybody see Paddy Berger for Villa? He's still got it!

Watched Berger against Everton on Monday, and he's still got so much class compared to that plonker Petrov.

Anyway, as for us: Arbeloa, smashing goal, well taken in a classic counter attack.

Reading are honest hardworking and physical so to get a win late in what is effectively a dead rubber game sandwiched between important ties was great. Pennant deserved a start I thought and Momo was lacking badly in confidence but Mascherano was mostly excellent. Happy for Kuyt too - Bellamy was off colour and should've made more of his chances.

In retrospect Crouch was probably the wrong man to pick for this game, he couldn't get into it at all, as it was too physical... his silky skills couldn't shine.

We meet at Trinity Hall by the Dart light rail station for weekend matches. The Dubliner for mid week near Deep Elum.

According to the weatherman the other day..in all of temperature recorded history for Dallas, the daytime high temperature for any day in the whole month of April has only had 13 days where the high temp was below 50 degrees. Today is the 14th..

Want to see more of Pennant on the Right Gerrard could move out right when Pennant is subbed for say Masch or Xabi, giuving either of them a good rest, OR play 4 2 2 1 1 playing both Masch and Alonso!

Either way chuffed with both Kuyt and Pennant long may it continue   ;D

Can the people slagging Momo please remember that he took a permeant eye injury play for use last year.
His Depth-perception is, probably, permanently affected by it. He'll need time to adjust his style of play to compensate for this.
The guys 22 and he's been a monster for us.
Give him a break ffs.
Suarez had no right to score that one but then again he is Suarez and he doesn't give a fuck.
