Right, waiting patiently for the new nokia then i'll give them a call!

Called the disconnections team today, got a free new Nokia N95, 500xnet minutes, 200 landline minutes, 300 texts, some multmedia package thingie with so many video and pic messages (which I won't use) and 5mb per month of free data (which I will)- £25 a month on a 12 month contract! Was first offered something even more ridiculous but wanted to avoid 18 month contract so lost a few minutes& texts for the sake of 6 months.

Happy days!

Anyone any reviews about the N95?

Never ever had a problem with them.  Bills always spot on, can always get hold of customer services, decent tarrifs, best coverage (and yes I've tried all the others)

Touch wood, I've never had an issue with Orange in the 12 or so months I've been on contract with them. 1000 any network texts, 100 any network anytime minutes and 50 anytime landline minutes per month, free Orange care and free E770 on an 18mth contract for £25 per month. And for the first six months I got free data transfer and £100 credit for my old phone.

Only problem I've had is I managed to lock my phone at about midnight, rang up customer services wondering if anyone would answer and got the code straight away, no questions.

Have posted in this thread before with my problem. They screwed up my magic numbers, i payed them over £500 and 6 months later they tell me they will give me £150 when there is no chance at all that i spent that much.

Have also not had the net for a month and a half because they keep closing down the problem due to me not calling eveyr day when they tell me to call back after 5 working days. Useless shower of shite IMO but the deal is just too fucking good for me

If you have documented proof that you spent £500 unwittingly calling your Magic Number on the understanding it was free - e.g. itemised billing - then send them a letter with photocopies of the bills, items highlighted, and ask for the full amount to be repaid within say 4 weeks, else you'll be making an application to the Court under small claims proceedings and will be claiming the full amount plus interest.

If you can't get any sense out of Orange, or they're trying to offer back only a fraction of what you spent, then tell them you are notifying OFCOM of your grievance and will be taking legal advice in terms of commencing a small claims application. Details on how to make a complaint about a mobile company are in the link below, but you do need to go through Orange's customer complaint systems first.

http://www.ofcom.org.uk/complain/mobile/

Also worth checking your contract because there may be a limit to your free calls per month, and if you've gone over the free amount you'll be required to pay at normal rates.

Impossible to determine without seeing the terms & conditions of your agreement with them. You'll probably find that it's included in there that they have the right to shaft you if deemed appropriate & that you agree to assume the position upon their exercising of said right.

Cheers, will check out the bill (when/if it comes) and then see if they sort it. If not then will have a look at that site and terms and conditions.

Cheers for that

Got my N95 today, so far so good! It's a bit wider than my old W800i but lighter and pretty much the same thickness.

As for the kitchen sink features, looks v.good. camera is boss and WLAN a good little extra that I wasn't expecting. Sound and pic quality is excellent. Phone very easy to use/navigate even though I've not had a nokia for a couple of years. Sat Nav available but have to pay the licence fees (about £45 for 3 years). All in all I'm quite impressed. Only problem is the internet is different (I'm a bit of a technophobe when it comes to these things) so the 5mb data allowance that I have won't last 5 minutes.

Is it worth me calling them back up to see if they can offer me some sort of free data in my tariff? Also should have haggled for free Orange care at the time but didn't. Will I get anywhere with telling them I'm sending the phone back unless they meet my demands?!

Given the amount of unsecured wireless networks in the UK, I wouldn't worry about data useage.  The 5mb allowance will be when using whatever connection method the phone uses to download data when no WiFi is available.

If you were supposed to have free calls, you shouldn't have paid. Companies are notoriously slack when it comes to giving you your due but if you owe them a penny, they'll be on your case constantly.

Of course, having said that, only do it if you know you don't owe them shit. If they have you by the balls, they're almost certainly going to squeeze.

After playing with the phone the last 2 days I've discovered that Sat Nav maps, directions etc. are all downloadable, handy for the free wi-fi connection. Can download a route at home through the WLAN and store it in the phone for use later. The licence fee is for GPS without any sort of data downloading, like a real sat nav. It seems to me that you can pretty much get by without this as long as unsecured wireless networks continue to be available and you're always somewhere with good coverage.

Another q.. what's the difference between connecting to Orange Internet and Orange GPRS WAP?

I believe the sat nav maps are already on the memory card if you get your phone from o2, so there are no download charges unless you dont use the memory card that the phone came with.
