I have already mentioned this suggestion in another topic and a few people seemed to agree that it was a good idea. Basically, as you may or may not know, the music charts have been totally changed this year, after the introduction of downloads of new songs counting toward sales (the same as if you bought the single in the shops) last year, they've further changed the rules to include all downloads, even old songs. This now means that say the Beatles entire back catalog was available on line, then they could conceivably have the entire top ten to themselves.
To get to the point, what I'm proposing is that we all buy the Manic St. Preachers song, South Yorkshire Mass Murderers, on download. It was was a b side, I was told. (Not a big Manic's fan myself, you see, though my girlfriend is). If it was arranged to make it available to download and enough of us bought it in the same, prearranged week, then hopefully we could put it high up the charts and this would be another chance to educate the public on 'the truth'.
I don't know how many downloads would be required to put it up in the charts or how easily this would be to arrange but I thought, as someone said when I mentioned it before, the BBC compile the charts, how sweet would it be to get this to number one.
