staying at a hotel on university campus! can anyone tell me is it near la ramblas?

fly to girona tues morning leave early hours thursday morning 2 of us £184 each flight an b&b

not been to barca before anyone tell me best way from airport to city is there a train station at the airport or do i have to get a bus into town?

theres a shuttle bus to place catalunya every 15mins i think

But he's flying to Girona so there isn't a bus every 15 mins to my knowlwdge. Assuming your flying with Ryanair, there will be a bus that leaves sometime after you land that will take approx 1 hr to get to Barcelona. They drop you off somewhere in the city and from there you make your own way to wherever.

There's a few of us staying in some apartment thing, somehwere near verdaguer metro staion. My mate managed to get it for free for a few days from the company he works for. Meant we only had to pay for flights. Brucey fucking bonus that is!

Not too far out so taxi late at night won't be too bad. And not too long a walk or meto in during the day.

I'm a lucky b****rd, I get to work in Barcelona for several weeks a year.

Tip for you all, 'Hostals' are smaller hotels, more like up-market guest houses - nothing like youth hostels! If you need a cheap place to stay they're really good. barcelonaDOTcom is a good website for advice (english version) and also has a useful classifieds ad section. That's where I got my tickets from! Placed a wanted advert (in English) and got 2 emails back from Barca members who offered me their tickets! There are a couple of nice Irish bars just off the Ramblas which are friendly and not too expensive. Best meeting place is the Place D'catalunya - afternoon before the match - for a sing song and a bath in the fountains! Watch out for the pick-pockets, and scam merchants,,,they're rife in Barcelona but shouldn't be too bad in February. Take a tip from the locals!, leave as many credit cards and stuff as you can in the hotel safe and don't carry all your cash in 1 pocket (it really is that bad!). All transport is cheap - even taxis! For the lads (and my kind of lass),,, most outrageous sex cabaret in Europe ~ Bagdad club. (spelt like that) It's expensive but memorable! (find it online).... Barcelona fans generally love Liverpool! Should be very friendly

I have a spare bed for 2 nights in a posh 4/5* hotel (Gran Hotel Torre Catalunya) <seriously> got a smart swimming pool & solarium too. (I stay there loads).... If you can put up with my snoring and the risk of seing my hairy ar5e the you're more than welcome to stay for free. Shame to waste it but I won't share with a fella. Dave dig_1ATTTThotMAILdotcom
