I've booked at Duc de la Victoria on Ramblas.

4 of us there.  (Swoop too).

Would have been five as I started off there  ;D   Got another booking now.  Duc de la Victoria is  a really nice and quiet  hotel CTR as I've stayed there twice.  But if I'm going back on my own late on, it's just down  a little side street off the Ramblas.  And would make me nervous.  I'm now going to be just about 5 mins away from there, other side of Placa Catalunya on a brighter street, but not as noisy as the Ramblas.
Never give up

You should see my around the world trip to get to Barcelona, I'm flyin from Manchester to dublin, then from Dublin to Valencia, Then I'm gettin da train from Valencia to Barcelona, it works out around £94 for the return flights, an about £30 on da train return, its much cheaper than flyin direct to Barca.  I'd recommend others to try this route, am flyin with ryanair.  Im also in the hotel Ronda, I'l see you all in Barcelona.

We are flying via Zurich, out on the Monday then home on the Thursday, staying in Novotel Junior allegedly it's 2 miles from the Nou Camp (I bet it's not)

Apparantly one of the lads have found somewhere for us to stay. Appreciated the offer Shaun but there's 3 of us so obvoiusly I'm not going to bring them with me. Anyway, €100 for a double room for 2 nights, not far from the Ramblas. Sounds good to me.

Probably going to stay in the Hotel Ronda looks decent enough. Are most people staying in the Ramblas area?  ???

Amy, leave your flight booking for a bit.

Prices on many of the route options will drop if you wait a few weeks.

The prices are currently high because the airlines set the price according to the volume of internet traffic  (ie the 'hits' on their site);  thus loads were pricing the options over the weekend before doing their bookings.

By mid January a lot of prices will fall as they see that lots of seats are unsold, and traffic intensity has fallen.

Hostel Miami somewhere just of La Rambla- will be buzzing!
Flying out Tues eve staying 3 nights. 117 euros for 3 nights twin room en-suite ;)

Found out it's in the red-light area, oh well, the things you have to put up with. :roger

I would suggest do not book a hotel in the bottom half (port end) of Raval. Can be very dodgy.

@ Jonathan Hall

Thanks for your tips  ;)

Does anyone know if there's a realistic chance to get tickets for the home end somewhere in Barcelona a few days before the game!?

When I went to Bordeaux I only spent 2 hours in my hotel room... So no booking this time will mean savings for few more pints! Especially as I flight back at 7am on Thursday.

Anyway, I think I will enjoy this one even more than I did in Eindhoven and Bordeaux!
