I know I will probably be ignored and while I agree that his apology was far from perfect. ashe left out on the one big piece..at least he did apologize. I don't think sending in emails, trying to call the show over and over does any good. The best thing now for us to do, is what we did before, not watch the show....

Also ask Fox to forward all the death threats emails he received to RAWK so as we can do something about them from our end ....if they exist.

Dear Sirs I have just watched the most mealy mouthed and insincere apology that must have ever been broadcast on any TV station. I am referring to Mr Steven Cohen's "apology" on Tuesday nights Fox Football Fone In.

Oh! Yes he apologised to you his employers and to his viewers and that just shows how shallow the apology was. Not a word to the families of the 96 fans who died at Hillsborough or the 39 at Heysel. Or the thousands who were traumatised through these events.

Not a word about the blatant misrepresentation he made regarding Liverpool's fans reputation, one that is held world wide amongst the best. He dismissed it all as if it was just a little over the top banter from one football fan to another football fan, something all fans should understand. Well sorry but we Liverpool fans and any decent human being do not understand why lies innuendo and crass comments should be allowed to go unpunished after a few words set in such a way as to allow Cohen to keep his job on your TV show. Without dealing with the hurt and injustice his words caused all over the globe his apology is nothing more than a sham.

The least your company should do is to allow a right of reply from a member of the Hillsborough Justice Campaign here in Liverpool to set the record straight. This will enable the football fans of the USA most of who are unaware of the true facts of Hillsborough and Heysel to see for themselves the facts surrounding these tragedies.

Also during the show Mr Cohen expressed concern that he had received death threats and abusive emails from Liverpool fans. I am sure I speak for all Reds world wide when I say any such correspondence is abhorrent to us all. To allow us to deal with these individuals could you please forward copies to one of the major Liverpool fan sites Red And White Kop (RAWK) who will publish them and shame the authors.

Try not to get the facts mixed up. He mentioned on his radio programme about the death threats. Not the TV programme. Tony from New Mexico mentioned them on the air last night, not Steven.

Here is part of my email to them on the previous page:

So here is an offer:

As you should be aware the Hillsborough disaster was April 15th, 1989. Every April 15th since there has been a Memorial service at Anfield. Which will be on a Sunday next year. Liverpool FC will never play on that day.

The Fhone-in show before then would be April 10th.

I have extra stickers for both of you to wear on the show.
A yellow Hillsborough Justice Campaign one
Also, a red on white Don't Buy The Sun one.

Why not wear them on your show that night and explain what they mean. You could cover in a few minutes what happened. And Steven you can also claim that you have been educated since your previous remarks on both tragedies and you want everyone to know you were wrong about Liverpool supporters causing them.

I would be willing to mail the stickers to you the week before the show so they don't get lost between now and then. Just respond to this email with the address where to mail them.

When you watch Liverpool matches in the future and they show closeups of the supporters, you'll pick out these stickers.

We all welcome education on both tragedies. The eyewitness accounts and facts speak for themselves on both days. If you need the websites again, i'll be happy to provide the links.

The radio programme is on Sirius satellite and a whole different deal. It is a pay radio ( $12.95 per month or about 7 quid) for the 140 channels of commercial free music, sports, etc. They are on channel 125. 1-3pm Eatern time monday through friday.

There was no blatent contention of event or complete lies printed in the press regarding any of those attrocities or tragedies still being peddled today that continue to grate on the conciousness and mind of survivors and families of victims alike, so all three are very, very poor examples.

Sent him 2 messages. At first he told me about 248 of his friends dying and he asked if I felt it was a tragedy - which I agreed was a tragedy. I pointed out how if lies were made about his dead friends and were continually aired, he'd feel outraged. As an example I used child molesters - that's why he talks about those in the response I'm posting.

He has a pretty strong dislike of HJC, which I think is strange. He then claimed Liverpool fans were arrogant and that "in his possition of power he doesn't have the right to solely focus on how great Liverpool FC is" but also focus on "the darker side of the game". Which is why he only mentions the darker side about us - so I point this shite out to him.

He said he'd show me all of the death threats if I wanted to. I wanted to see them, and I'd assume others would too.

He was a lot more reasonable in his second response. It's because I talked like a smarmy uni-prat in my second response, I think. Large words are great for making tossers show a little more respect. Which I think is pathetic. Here's his latest reply:

I think the analogy of calling the 248 child molesters is a bit off...at the best of circumstances they were not responsible for de-icing the plane or flying it...so please that does not wash. A plane crashes and people die it is a tragedy.

In the case of Liverpool and their fans (and by the way could not agree with you more regarding the disgraceful acts of Chelsea fans in the 70s and 80s) let me suggest that the reason Hillborough is such a hot topic is because the guilt felt from Heysel is so utter and so correct and there is no way back from it. But i think also to be a contributing factor to the death of your own fans is a tough pill to swallow and i understand that and empathize.

America is a football novice and this is a great game with great stories both good and bad and i am lucky enough to be in a poistion where i can educate this country to the game both good and bad.

I don't shirk from the responsibility. I simply disagree with many of the conclusions from Hillsborugh (that does not mean i think there was intent) but i think in the space of 4 years 135 people died, Liverpool were at the core of that (no blame attached...just making a statement) and it is part ofthe game and i will feel free to vent my opinion.

What would be great would be if the CULT that seems to be the HJC would allow people to discuss it...we all agree its a tragedy but the behaviour and language that i recieved is just a joke.

As for the death threats...they are on my Mac which is with the police and FBI...this is what i love about this country...they do not stand for this shit. When i get it back i will happily share with you, i was being somewhat tongue in cheek when i said i would send them to you.

I sincerly hope no-one is sending death threats to this man. If so that is going against everything the campaign is trying to achieve. At a guess I would say that the threats he has recieved has been blown out of proportion so he can use it against us, but even so people need to be careful how they say things. He is in a position where he can blacken the name of the HJC

Not saying they had, (I really hope that is the case), but people will believe his lies. Lies take forever to be erased, we know this from experience. I am hoping that no-one at all would do such a thing and damage the campaign.

I have read a few other forums where this subject is being covered and i'd have to say there is a high probability he did receive death threats. How many is up for debate. But with the millions of fans worldwide we have, the amount of total emails the various addresses you could send them to, plus his personal myspace one..it wouldn't surprise me that he has received them.

I titled the thread: Steven---Let's swap.

Instead of swapping shirts or trophy rooms...

Let's swap two days in History and keep things in historical perspective.

Let's say Chelsea were playing Juventus at Heysel in 1985.

Do you think anything would have been different on the day, in the stands?

Let's say Chelsea were playing Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup semi-finals at Hillsborough in 1989?

Do you think anything different would have happened as Chelsea supporters were heading into the Leppings End ?

Do you think The Suns headline of "THE TRUTH" after the disaster wouldn't be such a big deal to Chelsea supporters?

And the Hillsborough Justice Campaign along with the Hillsborough Family Support Group are now all Chelsea supporters doings.

And then after each event, would the "authorities" have claimed any different as to what "caused" the tragedies?

Remember, keep things in historical perspective. Both political and organizational. As in todays world I believe things would have been investigated differently.

Fast forward to 2006 and Steven Cohn is on FFF December 5th. Do you forsee that Steven Cohen claiming "all teams have dark histories including my own beloved Chelsea. Why it was our own supporters who caused both tragedies."

Have a real good think about it. I await your considered responce..
