Decent performance, could have had a couple more, Stevie G doing the business in his favourite position,
good showng from Pennant, would have been nice for God to nick one but we can't have everything.
3 pts is what matters and a clean sheet is a great bonus and a confidence builder for our back five.
This has to be the start of a run, after OT we picked ourselves up and got a run going, same has to happen if we're to rescue our season. Rafa must be delighted after all the injuries.
On a sidenote, happy birthday to me and to Xabi Alonso! (get well soon mate)

Yes think your right and I think he has scored two in the champions league.

He has showed in the last 2 matches he is better from the centre. I am very chuffed for him.

Stevie was great today, hopefully Benitez will learn from his mistake and leave him in the middle now.

Great goal, great runs, looking almost back to his best.

Now lets do the same away from home. I'd like to see Fowler on more too, as someone pointed out during the match, Fowler coming on seems to fire us up.

Still lacking that cutting edge in the final third.

I think the game was passing Gerrard and Zenden by. They didn't do a lot. I suppose thats why Gerrard is quality because despite not being in the game he was alert enough to get onto a mistake by Man City.

I think we could have done with someone like Joey Barton in place of Zenden.

Thought Zenden was ok today; Pennant did well when he came on as well...I singled them out because they are normally slated for stepping on the pitch.

I think the 3-5-2 formation we played worked quite well, would like to see that utilised a little more...

Roll on next week for another win.

Rafa, don't try that 3-4-2-1 again. We were much better after reverting to 4-4-2. Nice little assist by Kuyt, great goal by stevie.

That was a poor performance all things considered, but three points and no more injuries is good enough for me.

As predicted, Gerrard with our only goal. We never looked like creating anything apart from that 1 chance Garcia had. Its sad that Benitez opts for 5 defenders at home, its too negative.
