What I said in the 'in-game' thread...

Poor overall but got the 3 points which was the main thing. Xabi controlling the game in the middle, superb workrate and finishing from Kuyt. Good play from Crouch too. Stevie still looks like he's trying to force the issue instead of letting his talent do the talking.

If Chelsea had won in this fashion, pundits and journos across the land would be saying, 'well Chelsea have been poor but if you can win when you're not playing well then that title winning form'.

Our season has started.

3 points - which is the main thing.

I thought we were good overall.  We did what we needed to do, to win.  Kuyt is looking like the player we all hoped he'd be.  Crouch linked the play really well at times, and Stevie - whilst not being quite at 100% just yet, is improving with every game.  Alonso kept us ticking over, and Zenden worked hard.

All in all, pleasing.

The Mighty Kuyt.
Is correct.
Never mind the 2 goals, but the fact that he never stops working for the team, and just before he came off he made a 50 yard run to break up a Reading attack..

Battled through today. We stayed patient in the first half and got the reward but came under much more pressure in the second. We saw it out and got the crucial second. Kuyt worked his socks off and deserved his goals. Closing down a quickly taken corner just before he was taken off epitomised his performance.

Didn't look a great performance but 3 points is all that matters. Stevie looked everywhere.

Great for Kuyt to get his 2 goals.

Great result and pleased for Dirk Kuyt scoring both goals.

4 wins out of 4 now at Anfield, lets hope we start doing it away from home starting at Birmingham on Wednesday.

Comfortable 3 points, we didnt get out of 3rd gear and we didnt need to.

Kuyt's goal tally is steadily increasing, its good to see, good contribution from Crouchie to

Right now its all about picking up points and keeping clean sheets. Now we can go to Arsenal will a lot more confidence

That's made it for me, MoM Kuyt. Besides the two goals, what an excellent workrate to track back.

great game, good movement throughout and even when Reading finally tried to make a game of it we managed to deal with it comfortably. Another world class display from Dirk Kuyt, 2 well taken goals and plenty of good honest hard graft for the team.

we're moving on and moving up the table, even sweeter knowing that the bitters, Bolton and Pompey were all beaten. bring on the fuckin gooners, it's about time we broke the duck away.

professional performance. did enough to win the game from the start. never look in any real danger to lose the game.

kuyt was really good. and so was crouch in playing those little passes and linking up play. i was a bit scared about the gerrard alonso partnership in the middle, but they carried on heroically. still feel gerrard's a bit tense, he has got to let his feet do the talking.

good result. now it's time for away results to have the same improvement. starting with the brum and then the arse.

Reina looked shakey today with the crosses again, but then again Reading do put a fair amount of pressure on the keepers dont they :)

We seemed to play fairly well today, even if it was not our best performance. We were pretty solid in all departments, but i think we need to be a little more decisive with our finishing, passing and crossing in the final third.

Positive signs though, hopefully we can keep this run going in all competitions so that we can not only climb up the ladder but get these stupid reporters off our backs.

Don't want to sound like others who want to advise Rafa but with the free role that Gerrard had in the second half, I would have brought on Momo for Zenden to allow the skipper that freedom.  Kept yelling "Bring on Momo" to the TV.
