Been saying for the last 2 weeks that I would take a crappy draw just as long as we got through.

That's exactly what happened.

Horrible game, horrible circumstances, horrible defensive performance.  But we're through.

End of.

Well, that'll do. Can get on with focussing on the league now.

Hope Sissoko is ok. Twisted knee sounds a bit worrying.

Thank fuck for that!
Phew positives from the game..
Agger looked solid at the back again
Crouch had another solid game, and grabbed another important goal
Gerrard shone in his central midfield role, as did Alonso- nice to see them back.
Were through
Pennant has a wicked fucking cross on him
The only negatives were Momos injury- when he went off we really missed him and Garcias finishing was woeful again.

Improvment on last 2 seasons - we didn't lose a game in qualifying :D

Job done, is all!

We controlled that game, till Momo went off I think.

I really hope it's nothing bad, cos we really didn't look quite as solid without him. From being in control, we went to looking nervy.

Their man of the match - their goalie, them saves first half made it a far tougher game than it should have been.

I wish 'em well in the WAFA cup, honest ;) Although I suggest they change their kit to pink tutus the wimpy fecers.

We're through. That's all that counts at this stage. Warnock was unlucky again with twisting his ankle. A bugger about Momo though. Hope it is not too serious.

why will he get slated? Was our best player first half! I think you invite slatings with the comment tho.

Could have had a hatrick

And if he continues to play like that, he'll score plenty this season. Some of his flicks didn't come off - but that's the price you pay with Garcia. He was a constant threat, buzzing around Crouchy and getting into good positions. He was unlucky not to score because their keeper had a very good game.

I'm more concerned about us defensively at the moment. I like the look of Agger and Aurelio but as a unit we seem to be a bit of a mess at the back at the mo. But I'm sure that will be sorted as the season clicks into gear and the new players settle in.

Excellent until when it mattered.

He gave the ball away too easily in the last half hour but could have had a first half hattrick. That's classic Luis Garcia for you.

Arse-twitcher to say the least, thank fuck for that. Thought it was a solid perfomance, Maccabi used the ball well when they had it and are a pretty solid side. With a little more luck in the first half we could have strolled it but they always seem to keep us on the edge of our seats till the end. Let's hope our injured players are not to serious. Now off to the bog to change me undies, after the ref ran towards the penalty spot at the end I think i very well may of followed through.
