Let the whinging begin.......

Im not whinging.....I trust Rafa fully.

Its just something I really did not expect and my 'hmm' is merely there to say 'i dont know what to think of it.'

I fully expected Crouch to start today....its an interesting line-up i'll leave it at that.

Momo's in there, so im happy. looks like a solid back four... we cant be experimenting now.
like to see garcia get out, and maybe see Speedy off the bench and pass the ball to a red shirt.  :)

Certainly a strange set up up front.  But it's nothing where Rafa's concerned.  He often pulls a rabbit out of the hat to keep everyone thinking.

looking at the line up they will be alot of interchanging and movement. With these midfielders and one out and out stirker i would've like to have seen Garcia instead of Zenden on the left.

He can come in as a 2nd striker  as Pennant and Gerrard will be bumping into each other alot down the right (but they'll be alot ammunition* from there)

*no pun intended

I will watch some of the match before I comment on that selection, because a lot depends on what role Gerrard will be playing.

I`m not specially fond of him in the role as a link player, because he is not at his best with his back to the goal.
But if we are set up in a way where he will make runs from behind instead of coming back from an advanced position to link up play I have no worries.

We should beat this team either way.  ;)

Get in!

I would of thought so, although the official site have Bellamy and Pennant up front.

Very strong team out there today so I expect a win by at least a 2-3 goals, even if most have hardly played so far.  expect Stevie to start but I guess it signals Rafa's atitude to the game

Interesting team. I wonder how we'll line up. Zenden or Gerrard in the role behind Bellamy?

Couple of simple rules:

i) post about politics in this thread and you'll get barred. This is a football forum and this is a thread on the game.

ii) similarly posting false scores in the thread will result in the same sanction. It's tediously annoying.

Gerrard.

That's what I would guess, but I don't like it if we play 4-4-1-1, with Gerrard slightly behind Bellamy.

Maybe we'll play 4-3-3 a la Chelsea, with Alonso behind Sissoko-Gerrard, two wingers and a single striker.
