"GOD" in my house! Portrait added.
« on: July 21, 2006, 02:23:14 am »
I wasnt goin to put this up but our Robbie's had well more than his share of bad press over the years, so here goes.

I recently did a portrait of Robbie, and a good mate of mine is very close to the great man having been with him since day one. Well my mate Bob, who gets quite a few mentions in Robbies recent book, heard i'd done a portrait so came around to my gaff to see for himself.

Thankfully he was very impressed with it and asked me if he wanted to take it away and get Robbie to sign it. But i asked Bob what the chances were of me meetin him and gettin it signed. He said to leave it with him and he'd see what he could do.

So this is what happened. Last tuesday at 1.30pm there was a knock at the front door, and as our door is almost half glass i could see Robbie standing there so i  opened the door to Bob and the great man himself! It was just unbelievable to see "GOD" standing there.

I greeted them and asked them in. There's me inviting Robbie Fowler in to my gaff, just really unbelievable, Priceless x100! We went into the dining room and there was the portrait , he was made up with it and i asked him to sign it for me. Now as you can imagine i was inundated with requests for a signed copy, so i eventually wittled it down to 15. Robbie obliged wi no hesitation at all, as we chatted about the pre-season training and the world cup, which he wasnt impressed with either.

I got a few photies of course, and will treasure them till the day i die. Now Robbie had come from melwood after the first training session of the day and from ours he went back for the afternoon session. What a Legend he is, how many players today would do a thing like that. I was very impressed at the way he looked too, "fit as fuck" i think the saying goes. He really did look good and very slim indeed. He's obviously looked after himself during the summer break.

Just imagine what a fully fit Robbie Fowler will do this coming season, a mouthwatering prospect indeed. As i said at the start, its about time "GOD" got some good press for a change and this is why i've posted this.
It just proves what kind of person Robbie is, a down to earth Red footballing Genius, and also a gentlmen.

Just incase Robbie reads this, i'd like to thank you from the bottom of my heart mate. I am still buzzin off your visit, and to say that dreams do come true. God bless ya Robbie, or just bless yourself!

Good for you mate.  Your drawings are very real-life. I remember saying that to you the first time you posted over her with your first sketch.

By fit, do you mean he was looking all bones and skin with no fat at all?  Did he have a cuppa with you?  What is he eating in between trainings?

PS - why does everyone forget to ask the obvious "Robbie, do you ever read the posts on the RAWK forum"?"

Nice one mate, have to say I am a bit jealous.

Did he buy a picture or did you give him one? :)

Great to hear he looks fit as well, just makes me wish for the season start even more!

Cheers lads, thanks for your comments. When i said he looked  fit as fuck, i  meant very slim, and he just looks the picture of health. Its funny caus i had loads of questions in me head which i wanted to ask him. But it all goes out the window when he's stood next to ya in your own gaff. And i dont mind admittin that i was awstruck, simple as. I mentioned Bellamy to him and he said he's a top player, and sound with it.

His arl fella wanted a print, so i  framed one and gave it to Robbie to give to him. What a 15 minutes it was, absolutely incredible!

I met Robbie when i was working at Alder Hey. Most of the team were there but Robbie was into it the most. He spent ages chatting to staff, patients and relatives. Even the bitters were impressed. ;D
Remember your history:
In 1977 Bob Paisley needed to replace Kevin Keegan and paid £440,000 to bring Dalglish to Liverpool, a British record at the time.
His years at Liverpool marked one of the club's most prolific periods: he won seven league titles, three European Cups and five domestic cups.

How often do you get a 30 year old player with the hunger Robbie has shown, would he have had that had he remained at Liverpool, I don't think so. So made up for the lad.
