My brother is currently on Stage 2 of his London to Paris. On his way to Amiens right now. I'm seriously considering doing this next summer. Anyone else on here done it? Experiences? Write a blog about it? Cheers
That does sound great, I'm guessing they have a route that takes them on the lesser used roads? I'm very much looking forward to cycling in France purely because of the respect they appear to give cyclists as a nation. I'll probably be proven wrong but there you go. I'm also keen to do John O'Groats to Lands End one day and at least one stage of the Tour - I've always been interested in doing it and I can't find any reason not too.
That Cube hybrid looks very nice - I'm considering getting a hybrid as 90% of my cycling is on road and a hybrid seems like a good compromise between a serious usage road bike and my big, heavy and impractical (in our flat anyway) mountain bike. I also loved the different output I got using the road bike purely because of the difference in tyres; less forgiving tyres makes you realise how poor some of the roads are though, you definitely sacrifice comfort for efficiency don't you. Of course, if I make a habit of falling off I'm going to end up keeping the road bike anyway so there'll be no need for a hybrid!
I think I must have taken more of a battering than I thought when I came off on Wednesday, the whole of my body from the chest up is aching and very stiff. My right shoulder still feels like I've been given a mega dead arm and my neck is very stiff too. Doesn't help that my little boy decided to sleep with us last night and spent the night kicking the road burn I have on my right arm which was very painful!
