killer, killer shoe but the new sole ruins it.  original or bust for me.  i have a pair in red grey and white that are very close to death but so sublimely beautiful that the will be wheeled out for high days and holidays for years to come.

Have you hugged your feet today?

Derek Redmond's dad advertising them back in 92.  I hope he got a little bonus from Nike given the iconic moment it has become.

Yeah, the sole really is a deal-breaker on this one. I had these back in the day, what I would consider the flagship colorway:

Only design flaw was that the sun bleached the green upper something savage

i had the purples first time round and wore them without laces (of course)

have the huarache IIs as a limited edition from stüssy in orange.

my faves are the reds but the heel strap has perished a bit and snapped on one of them.

sad times.

why else would they be called 'Air' ?

all nike air trainers had a bubble in them but huarache's blazed a trail because they were the first of the new school to ditch that signature.

a great shoe.  even if you're not wild about the look - i am - its innovative in the way it set out to deliver as a trainer.

they concept got a reboot as the air presto - more of a coloured nylon bag attached to a pre-moulded shoe - but neither this nor the huarache 2 improved on the original concept.

Thanks to Macca, I found the sky blue trabs my heart desired - nice light, summery silhouette on these adistar racers:

Ordered for Ł55 from size?, and even though they were cheaper elsewhere in different sizes, I'm still happy in the end to get what I want.

I'm leaning toward them as well because they are leather, and I have loads of fabric trainers but not many all-leather.
