No Finals Tickets? - Venues to Watch the Match Then?
« on: April 26, 2006, 04:38:46 PM »
Ok ticket details are out, there will be some nervous waiting for many people able to participate in the ballot.

However....for those without the means/ability to secure tickets (i'd like to, but there's no way I'm forking out up to 1400 quid for two tickets - fuck those who profit from this....) - How about we work something out to get fellow RAWKITES together and watch the match somewhere?

I've just moved to the UK - so I'm not sure. Is there a good venue in Cardiff - can we get a bunch together there? Is there somewhere worth watching in London or Liverpool - I'm keen to travel anywhere for this if there are good numbers.

I could watch it at my local, but thought it would be good to guage the interest and see where people are watching.

We managed to get a Liverpool friendly pub to stay open in Melbourne, Australia throughout the night for the 4am CL kick off there - we had a good turnout (about 300 people) and a fun time was had by all (I even got on the national news leading a bunch of happy drunk fans in a sing song after the win  ;D

Thoughts? Suggestions?
Seriously, how fucking stupid can this get. Chelsea could not be more lucky. Those stupid fuckers. And Gary Neville who's been making sweet love to them all night and GOD DAMMIT I HATE EVERYTHING. FUCK CHELSEA. GOD FUCKING DAMMIT I HATE THEM SO GODDAM MUCH!!!!

There's a few options for cardiff

If you wanna stay in city centre, in and around the stadium, then the top end of st marys street by the castle will be liverpool. There, you have the city arms, the gatekeeper ( a 'spoons with big plasma tvs) and various smaller pubs such as the queens vaults, the cottage etc

The bottom end of st marys by the station will be west ham. that includes things such as o'neills, the philharmonic and the other spoons (cant remember name, its a hole). The quarter brewery, being a mix of resturants and bars, might be both, as might the walkabout further on down st marys.

In the town cente, but away from the stadium you'll find bar haha, slug and lettuce and bar cuba. theyre more upmarket and will only have smaller screens.

Or theres cathays, which is student land. very good pubs, cheap food and booze, and with this weather we've got, many a feamle studend in very little....

after the bunking in route has been exhausted first, and then the bribing of stewards, then i might return to the city arms!

Is right, of all the finals I've been to I can count the number of times I've travelled with a ticket on one hand. And I've also got one outside for face value........

thanks. ill probably stay around the stadium. Just incase the chance of getting hold of a ticket pops up. Might not be a problem if the ballot does me a favour again.

Ask him how much, and then throw the head in knocking the c*nt out.  An then you might find that you have got some extras to sort some decent folk out.
Why don't PTS members get priority, afterall they pay more than season ticket holders!!!!!!!!!!

People are saying there going to try and bunk it.  Sounds good to me, are there any easy climbing routes in or is it a double click job on the turnstiles?

Best off trying to bribe a steward with some cash, perhaps?

Tried bribing a steward for the chelsea game last year, said he would let 3 of us in for £150 15 mins after k/o, we came back and he said there was absolutely no room for us. he reckons thats the 1st time thats happened. May be a good option for this yr.

Hang around near the BT stand and the ramp that runs up to the stadium. fair few mates of mine have got into matches (albeit rugby) on comp tickets that stewards want to make some cash on

Is it a good idea to be discussing stuff like this in an open thread that anyone can read? Might arrive to find (a) 50,000 other people trying to do the same, or (b) that the option no longer exists because someone read about it and did something about it.

Just a thought like  ;)

Probably about as good an idea as, say, posting details of competitions to win cup final tickets, where if you enter you find (a) 50,000 other people are trying to do the same

;)  :P

I concur. If I can't get a ticket it'll be the pub for me - I'll be in Cardiff and there for the atmosphere and, hopefully, celebrations.

That's the thing isn't it mate. Nothing is fucking secret with this website.

Ranks up there with people posting their seat details in the home end for fucking Wigan in February.

Indeed. A few planks around here...
