This guy talks sense to me:

Kevin Nash: “Do you remember your first blowjob?”

Those words came out of Nash's mouth about 12 hours after I had been in Atlanta. I knew right then that if there was ever any doubt of how fun of a week I was going to have in Atlanta, Nash's start to that sentence cemented that memories and laughs were going to fuel a non stop sleepless wrestling trip.

By the way, the context and elaboration of that Nash sentence can be seen and heard later on this weeks Chair Shot Reality. I (along with several others of the Wrestlezone & CSR crew) had the privilege of having the exclusive access to the party to cover and help in ways such as me hosting/MC of an uncensored Q&A session with Kevin Nash and Sean Waltman. Again, something you can catch ONLY on this weeks CSR. Here is a snap shot of my co-host Josh and myself with one of the vendors at the party, BG James aka Road Dogg!

I worked in Dallas covering the Super Bowl. I worked in Atlanta covering WrestleMania. Atlanta did a great job hosting the week festivities compared to an ice covered Dallas, who had insane roads and many restaurants ran out of basic things such as coke and pepsi. Which by the way, me being a pepsi drinker, Atlanta was not the place to be. I tried to be a smart ass and ask for captain and pepsi....all I got was a nasty look and a very expensive but very weak coke and captain drink.....NOT WINNING!

But that was one of a very short list of complaints....and it was definitely behind Tony the “taxi” driver. This was the driver trying to charge 150 bucks for a cab ride. That 150 was his price before the Arby's sandwich, hookers and line of blow. Needless to say we didn't pay Tony for any of that, including the cab ride.

Other than Coca-Cola and a gypsy taxi, it was a great week. We filmed CSR part 3 on location. It was purposely done at 11am outside of the Georgia Dome and right next to where WWE Axxess was taking place. I knew we were going to miss out on some CSR fans. I don't blame anyone for wanting to go get a picture with Maryse over us, but we still got to meet a ton of fans and gained some new ones who stumbled upon us.

I had more fun filming that part of CSR than probably any other of the 3 parts in each of the 72 weeks we have done shows. So number 1 out of 216 parts, thank you to all involved. You can check it out by clicking here.

Agility dog show, getting some sun, great lunch, a wonderful limo and an early bed time all comprised the rest of Saturday.

Then came Sunday. WRESTLEMANIA! We started it off with the waffle house for breakfast. I took the tasty biscuits and gravy as a good omen for a successful day. For me, a successful day would be an awesome WrestleMania. Well rather than using the quality of the food as an omen, I should have used the prices of the menu as an omen. CHEAP!

WrestleMania 27 is not going to go down as the worst but it certainly will never.....and LaBar means never....be discussed in the conversations of the best. The key word of WrestleMania was “timing.”

Wrestlezone had exclusives posted prior to Mania about critiques and changes from Vince himself regarding the times of the matches and segments on the WrestleMania script. It makes me wonder, what the hell did the original script look like?

The Michael Cole match was too long. For a year they have sold his character to us (much to the annoyance of many fans) so Mania was suppose to be the payoff and conclusion. Instead we got more selling and more questions.

The 8 man tag was more of a waste than I thought. At least originally I thought The Corre would go over so at least while I am taking a piss I know that the characters who should be getting the WrestleMania rub are getting just that. Instead, The Corre got beat and I didn't even make it to the bathroom.

6 person match was what I expected. Snooki certainly wasn't terrible. She at least held her own in the celebrity spot she got and did it without embarrassment.

Orton match was good but as he pointed out, too early in the night.

Loved Rey & Cody. Really loved Cody. Apparently someone in Charlotte didn't!

The WHC match was an unprecedented start to Mania and I was okay with it.

HHH/Taker.....what can I say that hasn't already been said?! Excellent! They knew they couldn't top the kind of performance Taker had with HBK for the 2 years prior, so they did a different pace and type of match. I thought it was terrific and was sad I couldn't hear Jim Ross & Lawler call that match. That is on my things to do list for this week is hear the commentary.

The WWE title match was rushed. I was scared for the WWE when both men were counted out and it was 10:54. All 71,000 knew this wasn't the end, well actually they didn't, many were heading for the doors! Do you actually think WrestleMania would end like that?

Anyways, most of us knew it wasn't going to end that way but there is still only 6 minutes until we have a 1998 Halloween Havoc situation. So a the finale of The Rock costing Cena the belt and Miz retains.

This was rushed and seemed anti-climactic in its delivery. Let's not forget the match I predicted to be one the best if given time was taken off the PPV card in Daniel Bryan and Sheamus.

Bad timing of matches, bad timing of carrying on stories past WrestleMania. Again, I come to Mania for conclusion, not set up for the next Mania.

Which brings me to RAW.....

First off, the crowd at the Philips arena was hot! How it comes off on television can be tricky, but it was fun to be apart of. The start to finish of RAW was overall better than Mania. WrestleMania 27 was still the spectacle and had an awesome entrance way stage, but RAW did better in its 2 hours than Mania's 4. I said 2 hours, not 2 hours and 10 minutes. The final 10 minutes with the hyped John Cena calling out The Rock. They are going to fight in a year at WrestleMania 28!

I know that its in Miami which is where The Rock is from and went to school but come on....WrestleMania 28?!

Why start the feud this year? So The Rock can be added to this years Mania and do a few promos and skits. The skits during Mania were entertaining but not enough to where they will keep me laughing through the next 12 months as I calmly wait ANOTHER pay off to a story WWE was suppose to give me closure to at WrestleMania 27.

What if John Cena gets hurt? What if The Rock gets hurt? What if he has to film the Tooth Fairy 2? Furthermore, how do I care what Cena does between now and then? If he feuds with CM Punk, The Miz, Orton, Sheamus or anyone else on the week to week roster, how do you sell me that it matters and is a big deal. Its not a big deal. Rock vs Cena is a big deal but oh wait until next year.

That's like asking Santa for a toy and getting a note in a box on Christmas morning saying you will get this toy next Christmas. Okay, some of you are too old for that example....how about its like paying for a lap dance and getting told you will get it next week?!? Now do we all feel the pain I am in about telling me on April 4, 2011 that I will see The Rock vs John Cena on April 1, 2012! Is there potential for it work and add suspense for the next year via creative ways in the story, of course there is potential! But just like Santa, I don't expect to see it. At least nothing like it until January of 2012. I hope I get proved wrong.

But what can I do? I vent about it and will talk on CSR about it and then we move on and wait. I am already planning my trip to Miami and ready to dump a lot of money into their economy. Thank god I never ran into that Santa or stripper.

Thanks to all of the fans we got to meet either by planned events such as CSR filming or by the random sightings of us out and about. A special cheers to our friends across the pond who were in Atlanta and expressed their CSR support. England, Wales, Ireland....all terrific. I felt like at times we were more over than Primo is when he walks out of the WWE curtain.

Don't forget this weeks CSR will have all of the WrestleMania & RAW fallout plus exclusive video from the Kevin Nash party and much more!

Justin LaBar

They get a fine for that? Has it gone that daft now? The editing when they show the crowd when such a thing happens, its ridiculous.

Nothing wrong with that. Sends a message to the locker room, and these chair shots are what's daft. How many more concussions or Benoit's do you need?

WWF vs The Alliance (WCW & ECW)

For years 2 companies of world wrestling, the WWF and WCW had been fighting in the famous Monday Night Wars, and ECW was the alternative, a third way that stole the hearts of many wrestling fans.

The had fans who wre loyal to WWF, others to WCW, and a few to ECW and argued among themselves wich company was the one with the better wrestlers, who would win in a fight, but it was only a fantasy, this would never happen that a company wrestlers, clashed in an event against the competition.

But in 2001, one year with certain resonances like science fiction, the dream of many wrestlings fans became a reality, the WWF collide against "The Alliance" of the WCW and ECW, were legendary matches happen, this is his story.

____

Some people categorized this "Invasion" as a failure for some reasons such as the lack of talent by WCW, throughout his history, the WCW is characterized by having a big roster with powerful names such as: Steiner, Goldberg, Hall, Mysterio, Nash... etc. However, in the WWF they did not. WCW during the feud with WWF they only had two wrestlers which were Booker T and DDP, anyway they did not have the three most important wrestlers from WCW which were Sting, Flair and Hogan.

Also the lack of talent in ECW, which it also did not have wrestlers such: Sabu, Sandman, Balls Mahoney, Super Crazy, and so on.

It is for these failures talents that many WWF wrestlers had to defect to "The Alliance" to make it look more powerful.

____

Personal Opinion:

My opinion on these 5-6 months of war, I loved, far i have a very good memories of this era of the WWF/E, in addition the end of this war, marks the separation of Rosters, and this was a fun era, good feuds, many backstages, every show a tremendous brawls.
For me this Invasion has no comparison, it had me obssesed the 5-6 months as never before.

Came across this as well.

"Best of WWF 2001" is from TNN's 2001 New Year's Eve Special. It is the exact same thing that was on TV except for the video montages on certain superstars. I did not even know this show was on DVD. Maybe it was only available on DVD. The DVD talks about major surprises, best kisses, and shows a the 9/11 tribute. The best part of the DVD is that it shows the top ten matches from 2001. They are not shown in thier entirety, but are stil great.

10. Chris Jericho vs. Chris Benoit (Royal Rumble 2001 - Interconintental Title/Ladder)
Good exciting match. Ladder mathces are the best. Good high spots and innovative offense. Watch for the Walls of Jericho on Benoit on the top of the ladder. (9/10)

9. Undertaker vs. Triple H (Wrestlemania 17)
This match was not a Street Fight, but turned into one when the ref gets knocked out. Good spot when the Undertaker chokeslams Tiple H off a scaffold. Very exciting finish. (9/10)

8. Kurt Angle vs. Shane McMahon (King Of The Ring 2001 - Street Fight)
One of my all time favorite matches. These two go all out for this match. Shane pulls off some crazy spots. Watch for the Angle Slam off the board on the top rope. Pay attention to the kid in the light blue shirt in the front row after this move. He makes the move even more exciting with the way he reacts. (10/10)

7. Chris Jericho & Chris Benoit vs. Two Man Power Trip (RAW 5/21/01 - WWF Tag Team Championship)
One of the best straight up tag matches you will ever see. This is the infamous match in which Triple H injures his quad. It is a testament to his love for wrestling to see how long he wrestled after being hurt. Lost in this, is the greatness of the match. Very exciting. (9/10)

6. Trish Stratus & Lita vs. Torrie Wilson & Stacy Keibler (No Mercy 2001 - Bra & Panties Match)
Nice to see the ladies, but they could have put a better a match on. (6/10)

5. The Rock, Chris Jericho, Undertaker, Kane, & Big Show vs. RVD, Booker T, Shane McMahon, Kurt Angle, & Stone Cold Steve Austin (Survivor Series 2001 - Team WWF vs. Team Alliance/Winner Gets Control of WWF)
Unfortunately this match doesn't pick up until it Rock and Jericho vs. Angle and Austin. Great finish. (9/10)

4. RVD vs. Jeff Hardy (Invasion 2001 - Hardcore Title)
Very exciting match with many high spots. Jeff Hardy pulls off a couple of crazy spills. I wish Jeff was still around. (9/10)

3. Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. The Rock (Wrestlemania 17 - WWF Title/No DQ)
Very, very exciting match with a lot of blood and a shocking finish. Match of the Year in my opinion. (10/10)

2. Hardy Boys vs. Edge & Christian vs. Dudleys (Wrestlemania 17 -WWF Tag Team Championship/TLC)
Another great TLC match. Numerous amounts of amazing spots. Not as good as the first TLC. Rhyno, Spike, & Lita make appearances. Watch for the spear by Edge off the ladder on Jeff hanging from the belt. One of the best moves you will ever see. (9.5/10)

1. Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Triple H (No Way Out 2001 - Best 2 Out of 3 Falls)
1st Fall - Regular Match
Good straight up match between the two. (8.5/10)
2nd Fall - Street Fight
Amazing effort by both men. They went all out for this fall. (9.5/10)
3rd Fall - Cage
Good finish, altough both men were exhausted from the Street Fight. (8/10)
Overall Rating for the Match: (9/10)

There are no extra on the DVD's.

Overall Rating: (9/10)

There is so much wrong in this post mate, Vince never gave Paul the support that so much people argue about, it was some money to just keep them working and it didn't last long.It was the WWF moving RAW to TNN that got ECW out of a television deal even though ECW was being TNN's highest rated program despite little advertisement and a late time slot.

Vince poached ECW's wrestlers just as Bischoff did, Paul couldn't stand in the wrestler's way, he didn't have the money Vince or Bischoff were offering, he didn't pay his wrestlers their money because he didn't have any and I still didn't hear anyone of those who didn't get paid speak a bad word about Heyman or how he was a liar or thief, you're quite frankly the first one to say this movie story as I didn't hear anywhere else.

The one who was truly wasting money was Bischoff using Ted's money and making WCW lose shit load of millions in all of his years there bar three years (1996,1997 & 1998), any company who had the same resources that WCW had would've been still in the business till now and you can put the same on TNA as well since Panda Energy has a lot of wealth and gives TNA lots of money and still TNA loses a lot each week.

Heyman the fraud - Rob Van Damn, Jericho ( read his book) and Sabu

Heyman the liar - Bischoff, Corntette, New Jack, Jericho, Sabu and the Dudley's.

Also read the transcript of Sandman's shoot on Heyman. I think that makes it 3 ecw "icons", who called Heyman a fraud and a liar. Sandman also gets + points for calling Heyman over-rated.  :)

Seriously. It's well documented Heyman was a fraud and a liar. Google is your friend and I have even given you name references.

Vince said he financially supported and paid money to Heyman and ECW. What reason would Vince have to lie about that? He also promoted ECW on NATIONAL TELEVISION on his own programming, had their matches featured on raw and sent his own talent to ecw shows. So please let's not pretend Vince did not support ECW. ECW's problems were of it's own makings - Heyman for being a dumb fuck and ecw's shoddy organisation was the sole reason for the mass transit incident. You convininently left off how he was a unprofessional idiot who ran his mouth off on his own network on live tv. Not smart thinking. Lastly being no.1 tv show on TNN pre 2000? LOL. Do you know what it's demographics was before it acquired raw? The redneck USA. Anyway what ratings were TNN expecting  ;)

Quote
Morale in ECW has been high as of late with the TNN deal appearing to be a lock, which is scheduled to start on 9/10 at 8:00pm EST (Friday nights). TNN and ECW haven't officially announced the deal, but it is expected one will be made in a few weeks. TNN generally doesn't receive big ratings. TNN is selling advertisements for the ECW show based on a projected 2.0 rating. ECW will have to tone down its product, with most language being edited, although blood and the actual ECW-type wrestling should be allowed.

And what ECW delivered? 0.5-1.0's.  :( And when did 8 pm become a late time slot?  ??? Why blame them for acquiring raw who got them 6.0-7.0 ratings Raw in the new retooled TNN network. Lastly the guys who left ecw were not all who jumped for the money - MONEY? WHAT MONEY. some were simply NEVER paid money. Read 411mania's in defense of mike awesome, ecw's bankruptcy petitions and Sandmans own accounts. Google Heyman's bouncing check btw too.

Mate I've read Jericho's books about four times and he says good things about Heyman and ECW, he directly said he still takes advice from Paul and would've still worked for ECW if he would've made good living out of it.

And the fact that ECW on TNN's timeslot wasn't on 8PM rather on after midnight and still scored good ratings for a relatively not so well known network is what made TNN approach the WWF to get RAW IS WAR out of USA.

Check your facts mate, it seems that your blind hate of Paul Heyman is taking the best out of you in rating the man.

Are you sure you have read Jericho's book? Pg 383, Pg 384, pg 386 and pg 387 - A lions tale. I have it opened right now  :)

read Sandmans accounts and google the rest of the names. You'll get the facts. Also please show me where ECW on TNN was on after midnight? It actually aired on friday nights before roller jam. and Rollerjam was basically TNN's flagship show. How in the world are you accusing me of not having my facts straight?  ???

Read this too - http://www.wrestlingclassics.com/fe/fe-ecw_gamble.html - from right after heymans infamous rant on TNN

I don't hate Heyman. He's a great booker sure but he is also a fraud and a liar. He will also not get tna to compete with wwe. that's what i believe anyway  :)

You thought you knew TNN? You don't know TNN. You think it's country music. Maybe "Dukes of Hazzard" reruns. Fishin' and huntin' and sometimes cars go 'round, vroom-vroom. Not anymore. Now TNN is home to the truly essential three R's of junk-fun TV -- rodeo, Rollerjam and 'restling!

Friday's the night. At 9, "Rollerjam" is in its second season of nuevo-mondo skating savagery, updated with Rollerblades, hot bods and Spandex. That's right after "Extreme Championship Wrestling" at 8 p.m., the mid-Atlantic grappling circuit going national. Add in 11 p.m.'s "Motor Madness" coverage of monster trucks, and you have one whale of a wacky night. Too bad you gotta wait till Sunday …

so much for being on after midnight and getting great ratings. Where did that rumor start anyway  ???

Both Superstars felt that Trish Stratus took Melina's spot in the Six-Person Mixed Tag Team Match at Wrestlemania XXVII and have been giving her the cold shoulder since her return. Additionally, Morrison rejected various ideas Stratus had for their ongoing storyline.

Many feel this will hurt both Morrison and Melina since Stratus is highly regarded amongst WWE personnel

Enjoy RAWKites.

RIP wrestling

http://www.wrestlezone.com/news/article/wwe-announces-renaming-of-the-company-vince-comments-128047

LATimes.com is reporting that World Wrestling Entertainment has in fact renamed itself, and it will now simply be referred to as WWE. Vince McMahon spoke on the renaming, and the following is an excerpt from the article: "I think every brand has to re-create itself," he said. "I want everyone to look at us in a vastly different way than they have."

To do that, McMahon plans to go on a spending spree to acquire media assets that could expand WWE's business beyond the ring. In particular, he said, WWE is targeting companies involved in production, live entertainment and branding.

"It is a logical broadening of what we already do," McMahon said in an interview."

Quote
To better reflect the company’s global entertainment offerings, World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE: WWE) announced today a new business model for future growth, including formally rebranding itself, WWE.

Two key components to WWE’s brand expansion will be the active pursuit to acquire entertainment content companies and the outsourcing of WWE’s core competencies – television and film production, live event production and licensing. As part of the new business model, the company will also focus on the development of new television products including scripted, non-scripted and animated programs, as well as the launch of a new WWE network in the next 12-18 months. The first new program of the brand expansion is Tough Enough®, WWE’s non-scripted program that debuted on the USA Network on Monday.

“The new business model of the company better reflects what WWE is all about, being a global entertainment company,” stated Vince McMahon, Chairman and CEO, WWE. “We will always be loyal to our core business that made WWE a globally known entity, however, the future of WWE will be the addition of new entertainment content opportunities beyond the ring.”

This new rebranding initiative will be highlighted through a national consumer and business-to-business advertising campaign entitled “Bigger. Badder. Better.™” The campaign kicked off at WrestleMania® XXVII on Sunday and will be featured on cable TV, print and online.

In addition to focusing on the expansion of the company, the company will bolster its core business with the launch a new talent development department headed by Paul “Triple H®” Levesque. The new department will put a greater emphasis on worldwide recruitment, training and character development to identify future WWE Superstars and Divas. The first recruit acquired under Levesque’s new department was the signing last month of future WWE Superstar, Sin Cara™, formerly known worldwide as Mistico.

Looks like HHH is the man in charge of talent now, sweet.

Really liked David Hart Smith. If the Hart Dynasty were in WWE ten years ago, they would have been a top tag team in the mix with the Hardys, Dudleys, E&C before going their separate successful ways. Real quality tag team down the drain there

I can't see Tatsu going anywhere just yet because he fills a demographic no other wrestler does at present, and Mark Henry has been around for years and is on a long contract isn't he? I definitely can't see either of the Bella's going anywhere either, they are always on TV, either backstage or in matches, get a lot of attention being twins and are two of the fittest Divas.

Would be gutted if Zack Ryder leaves, he has potential. But Masters, not bothered. What do you rate about him mate?
