Good first half and win. Second half was just dire. So toothless upfront and no cohesion in our passing play. Kewell and Fowler might aswell have not been playing.

The defence, apart from a few shaky moments, were immense again. We'd struggle to win games like that without them.

That 20 clean sheets in the Prem right?

Controlled the game but felt our passing got sloppy in the last 10 minutes.

Happy with the result

I think that pretty much wraps up at least 3rd place for us now.  With Spurs and Bolton losing, and Arsenal too many points back to catch us (despite their good form), I think that we're safe now - in case anyone was worried.

More worryingly, it looks like UNited might not be out of the title picture!  7 points back and they still go to Stamford Bridge, so they only need to pick up 4 more points than Chelsea in the next 5 games to make the game at the Bridge a decider.  Fuks sake.
In Brendan, we trust.  In Rafa, we love.

Player ratings:

Reina - 7
Finnan - 7
Carra - 9
Hyypia - 8
Riise - 7
Cisse - 9 (MOTM)
Xabi - 9
Momo - 8
Harry - 6
Crouch - 6
Robbie - 7

Momo, Xabi and Djib were great first half, and all deserved motm. Carra was his usual rock-like self.

Think we need 2 wins out of our last 5 games to guarantee CL football.

A very dull second half was enlivened considerably at full time, when two blokes from another pub decided to have a drunken punch up in the middle of a busy road junction. Three points. Again.

Cisse a 6? Xabi a 6? Momo a 6? You are well and truly having a laugh. But I've seen quite a few of your posts, and you seem to be trying to start arguments.

Besides, we were collectively poor second half, but for the first half alone, the ratings should be fairly high.

Good first half and two good goals. We stayed in the dressing room second half, although at the beginning this was due to B. Robson changing a few things round and maybe a bollocking or two.  Second half and Pepe had much more to do but what he had to do he did well. Very happy with the result, could have been a banana skin.

Well he only played half of the second half. And aside from being a little greedy what did he do wrong? The one on one wasn't easy, and neither was the volley. Anyway, think what you like I can't be arsed arguing.

Gera also played well when he came on. I actually advocated a cheeky bid for him last summer - think he's a better player than he's allowed to show at West Brom and would be good right-sided back up.

Great attacking first half, but second half to echo previous comments we stayed in the dressing room.  Just did not seem to turn up.

But I'll take the points every time!
