The draft is going to be a fucking joke.

As long as we manage to pick up Shane Kersten and a key defender or 2 I'll be happy. Last draft and this one were always going to be a joke.

FUCKITY FUCKITY FUCK!!!! Why did the fuckwits not get Shane Kersten. Local boy and long term replacement for Pavlich. Picked up midfielders which we don't need instead of thinking long term. Pavlich, Sandilands, McPharlin, Grover all need replacements as they will be gone in 2-3 years.

You would think that players would have learnt by now, especially seeing as the whole "Backman getting told he will start in the forward line, odds on him to kick first goal plunge, he kicks first goal, his mates/family win heaps of cash" scenario has happened before and is therefore being watched out for!!

To be fair to him, he did come forward to the AFL 15 minutes after the game with concerns about it.

Yeah, though I am cynical of that type of thing, he probably knew he would get caught and so made sure he "helped with enquiries" to lessen the punishment.

"THREE-TIME Brisbane premiership player Darryl White has been banned from playing football for life.

White's one-match ban for striking Tiwi Bomber Donald Mungatopi took his lifetime suspensions to 16 games - one above the maximum allowed under a new AFLNT deregistration policy for players and officials."

http://www.ntnews.com.au/article/2011/12/22/279471_ntsport.html

This covers his time in the NTFL/CAFL before he went to the AFL, his long AFL career, and all the games he has played in QLD and the NT since he retired from the AFL. so from about 1990 to now he's copped 16 games.

Dumb.

That's bullshit IMO. 16 games in 22 years is absolute fuck all and ridiculous. If it were 16 suspensions then I would agree but 16 games can be garnered in 3/4 suspensions. A poor way to end the career of a champion of the game.

Just over a week to go until the NAB Cup starts. Finally some football back on the T.V. It has been a long off season.

Might head to the Dockers intra-club scratch match on Friday night to see what Ross has been doing. It is nice to see that he plans on giving the big names a run instead of resting them like normal. Hope we don't get any injuries. Also like to add that Pav has lost a couple of kilos and shaved 20 seconds off his 3km time so watch out everyone.

News from Today:

Reiwoldt stays Saints captain with a seven man leadership group- not including Hayes.

Majak Daw has been suspended indefinately by the Roos for breaching rehab rules.

Just been to the Dockers intra club match and they still have a bit of work to do. The skills weren't the best (especially the senior players) but some of the young players were good. Lachie Neal was the impressive one out of the new bunch of players. Pav looks good. Lost a couple of kilos but looks very slim and fit. Jayden Pitt and Stephen Hill have both put on weight and look alot better. Jack Anthony seems to have improved his kicking and looks interested. We also seem to be leaning towards the Collingwood style of game using the width alot. I don't mind too much but they didn't seem too interested in going up the guts. Fyfe also needs a hair cut. He is almost rocking a mullet. Subi need to fix the siren as well. It sounds almost dead.

All in all, I can't see too many improvements but I hold high hopes for this season.

Midfielders that get a lot of touches. The likes of Ablett, Mitchell, Swan, etc. Try get players that can play forward/midfield and centreback (mainly forward/in the middle in real life) to get more points from them scoring/touches. If I was you, I'd wait to make the team until after the NAB cup to see which youngsters look promising though.

Not really. The prices will fluctuate if some of the cheaper players really stand out but they generally don't change much.

Not for the major players but the cheaper ones sometimes do. I do the one on the AFL site, not Supercoach so it might be different but they sometimes do on the AFL one.

How did you find the intra club match pepe?? Thought we were a bit crap and the best player was from the WAFL.

Hey another Docker. Welcome mate.

I thought we were ok but as Ross said, it's just an intra club match. I thought the skills could use a bit of work and I couldn't really find much different with the game plan except using the width a bit more. Pav and Sandilands seemed to coast through most of the match but looked good. That WAFL player who kicked 4 goals was good and I think if he has a good season at WAFL level we might have a look at him in the draft next season to replace Pav. Lachie Neale is going to be a good player from what I seen. He is a bit like Ballantyne but without doing the stupid things. Zach Dawson was as shit as I have always said he is and was constantly beaten by his opponent. Fyfe and Barlow were as good as they usually were and I liked that Anthony seemed interested and actually put in a bit of effort. All in all, I'm going to reserve judgement for now as I don't put too much stock in intra-club matches. I just hope that the kicking skills (general play and goal kicking as that was still crap) improve by round 1.
