My goodness.

Dammit, sounded like an amazing game, gutted to miss it!!

Seriously though the 3rd draw in the first 4 round, that's got to be some kind of a record right?

7/7 this week if you include the draw.

Went with heart over head and tipped my boys in the Showdown and it paid off. Top win.

I just had a feeling that fucking Port would pull a decent performance out after being shit all season. Ah well still 6/7 for this week.

Just got home from the match. My analysis of the game.

A good performance but 5 goals was very flattering on North Melbourne. 10 or 11 would have been a true reflection of the game. We dominated in every aspect of the game and it's only poor goal kicking once again that cost us a huge percentage boost. As a guy near me said, "if we could kick straight, we would be smashing teams." Another reason is that we would have most of the possession and kick a goal or 2, then a stupid mistake would gift North a goal and that would slow the game down. The only sour note was Suban's suspected broken fibula. Ballantyne has to get man of the match- 4 goals, countless tackles and rundowns. When the game was tight, he stood up and lifted not only the team, but the crowd as well. Fyfe is also going to be an absolute star and Pitt is also looking good. It was good to see Ibbotson back from injury. Bring on the Doggies next week.

Next Monday is going to be a big day of football. The Fremantle Derby at Fremantle Oval to watch the mighty South Fremantle Bulldogs kick the shit out of East Fremantle then train it up to Subi to watch the Purple Haze smash the Dogs. Can't wait.
Thing is, if you're going to have a massive beard then you simply MUST have a 'tache with it. Otherwise you just look like you've dipped your sticky chin in to a box of fannies.

You are shitting me are you not?

Lindsay Thomas kicks 6 behinds for the day and the scoreboard flattered us?

The better team won on the day no doubt, but don't get too caught up in your Purple Haze

The score may have been accurate, but North are going to be one of the worst sides this year.
Bottom 3 or 4 is looking likely.

So far we've played in WA twice and Collingwood. I'd be wrapped if we had a couple of wins out of that start, with one of the youngest teams in the league. If we lose to Richmond this week it will be underperforming, but only then. We'll win a few this year. Not going to tank because it's not in our nature. Not that it would do much with the Suns and Giants concessions.

This week I was SOOOOOO tempted to tip the Suns against Port, Port are just the type of team to cause an upset (against the Crows last week) then completely fuck up against a team they should smash.

Tipped the Roos over the Tiges as my 1 upset for the round, and sad to say I am backing the Pies to knock off the mighty Dons... hope I'm wrong though ;D

Had a couple this week. Think (or hope) my Roos will get up, first time I've tipped them this year. Also think the bulldogs might upset the dockers just because I think they'll need to be doing that to be where they want to, if that makes sense.

I could also see Carlton losing to Adelaide and the Bombers getting up but didn't have the stones.

Yeah they were the other two possible upsets I tinkered with, but generally i try to limit myself to one upset per week. Plus when it comes to tipping the bombers I tend to go against us, just for the reason that if we lose I have the silver lining of getting the tip right...

I'll back that up, I remember in '07 when we were red hot favourites for the spoon but finished 4th. We had a terrible draw to start the season - against this Freo side a few years ago we would've copped a 10 goal flogging, but we seemed to put up a fair fight. I think we can do alright this year

I know, when I first moved to Oz in 2007 everyone said North were crap and not to tip them, in the end you got up in a lot of matches that you were supposedly underdogs in, I think that helped me loads in the footy tipping that year!

Yeah we were underrated then, and we are now, but only because some seem to think we're the second worst team in the AFL when we're just a smidgen better than that.  :D

Good on em. I was very tempted to tip them as well. Just didn't have the balls to do it.

Laughed at the guy holding up the board with the words to the song on it. Obviously no one expected to be signing it this early.

Happy that Gold Coast won though, was urging a behind from Westwhatever because GC were fucking immense in that last quarter.

Alas no, the fact they were playing in Adelaide swung me against tipping them, also I try to stick with one upset a week and have already gone for North over the Tigers, based on the fact that Richmond have an uncanny knack of snatching defeat from seemingly unloseable situations ;D (NB they will probably win by 150 points now just to spite me :P)

Fair play to Richmond - and at the risk of sounding patronising I find it hard to be angry at them if they win and cost me a point in the tipping, I just think of all the pain they have put their own fans through for the last 30 years and that reminds me not to begrudge them any success that comes their way :P

Fuck me. No voice left, amazing atmosphere, deafening roar when Lower kicked that goal at the end and the most disgracefully umpired game I have ever seen. Add in a great win by the mighty South Fremantle Bulldogs over the gay East Fremantle Sharks in the Freo Derby and we have had a brilliant day of football.

Caught the last quarter of the Freo game, was anyones game really. The Doggies had the momentum for about 10 minutes midway through but couldn't put it on the scoreboard, then the last 5 minutes or so was all the dockers. Had a bit of a finals feel about it. And there's still one more game to go in the round!
