Good to see Allen getting that yard of pace back but worrying how easily Lucas was passed - he's looked really, really slow since his return.

Well no because it's not something I've just suddenly picked up on, he's been like this since he came back into the first team but I thought once the season finished and he had some rest he'd be in good shape but it looks as though it's not the case. I love Lucas as much as anyone and he was great before the injury but we need to think about what's best for the club and if it means replacing him then we have to do it.

However, to be fair, some friendlies might be just what he needs, game time at a slower tempo with less pressure - he was rushed straight back into the fast paced PL and then never really got any rest which is unfair coming off a 1 year absence.

3 minute training video, a couple of days into pre-season when everyone's fitness levels will have dropped.

Get a grip.

Then why did Allen blow past him, if his fitness levels have dropped? Like I said, it's something I noticed last season too, not just in that video.

They'll all be at different levels of fitness, since some players rest during the summer, some party, some try to get a head start on the season like Kelly and Borini, plus Allen is quite a quick player anyway. Just stop worrying about such an utterly minor thing.

Shelvey is a bigger concern for me, he looked quite energetic in the first training video but he was practically invisible in the second.

Allen has been training for the past few months, and has just been given the all clear on his shoulder injury. Lucas on the other hand, was more than likely told to rest, as he needs to recover from being overplayed this season.

Allen blows past him once in 3 min clip of players training and you use that as verification of whatever opinion you seem to have. Why not wait till you actually see him play for maybe 10 minutes.
