When you watch the match..who do you support?
« on: February 25, 2003, 03:28:11 PM »
I was wondering based on various threads and posts, how and who do you support because this is the forum verdict on each player apparently..

1. Jerzy Dudek ..Kirklands better
2. Stephane Henchoz.. Swiss nuetral
3. Abel Xavier..gone and forgotten
4. Sami Hyypia.. Captain has let us down
5. Milan Baros.. Selfish, not a team player
6. Markus Babbel.. not ready
7. Vladimir Smicer..Ged, Blair, Bush are his only supporters
8. Emile Heskey.. Non scorer for a forward
9. El-Hadji Diouf.. Not worth his fee
10. Michael Owen.. to the bench, he's off form
13. Danny Murphy..Not good enough for a Championship side.
14. Vegard Heggem..Who?
15. Patrik Berger.. Who?
16. Dietmar Hamann.. Solid but to defensive
17. Steven Gerrard.. Inconsistent
18. John Arne Riise.. Good song is all. LM or LB?
19. Pegguy Arphexad..Reserve team
21. Salif Diao..Maybe a midfielder
22. Chris Kirkland..Dudek is better/worse
23. Jamie Carragher..See Danny Murphy
24. Bernard Diomede..Who?
25. Igor Biscan..Reserve team at best
26. Richie Partridge .. Unknown
27. Gregory Vignal.. Who knows
28. Bruno Cheyrou..Won't get stuck in
30. Djimi Traore..Backup CM
31. Alou Diarra..Unknown
32. John Welsh..Unknown
33. Neil Mellor..To slow and not good enough
34. Daniel Sjolund..Unknown
35. Stephen Warnock..Unknown
36. Jon Otsemobor..Unknown
38. Michael Foley-Sheridan ..Unknown
39. Patrice Luzi..Who?

There you have it. No wonder Liverpool FC are struggling, look who Houllier has to choose from if forumites are the judges of talent.

So when the side takes the pitch do you have 1, 2, 3, 4, or so players you can honestly root for?
And people wonder why the Kop is quiet.. it's a good thing that the Kop has FOAR and Scouser Tommy to sing..not enough players to support..  ;)

Whoever is wearing the shirt with the Liver bird on his chest gets my backing. Simple as that. They all should get the same backing when they are on that pitch. It takes eleven to win the game, not one ot two, etc.

Every player who is in our shirt will get my support @ the game.  They are playing in an LFC shirt for that reason alone I will back them during the game.  It's not about individuals it's about the club

Jesus, is the internet broken?
Do offal posts find their way here by mistake?

Ditto Steve... I'll support anyone with a Liverbird on their chest (on the pitch that is).

Football is a simple game based on the giving and taking of passes, of controlling the ball and of making yourself available to receive a pass. It is terribly simple - Bill Shankly.

If we had signed Lee Bowyer I would still have hated him as a person. But that does not mean that when he was in a red shirt I would not SUPPORT him, as part of the team.

Bored of reading pointless threads, basically, Adam. The Bowyer stuff was boring when we were thinking of buying him, and I fail to se any relevance to this thread now. We didn't buy him then, we won't buy him in the future. It is a totally irrelevant point to make. Would you support Fred West if we signed him? What about that bloke Hitler? He reckoned himself as a bit of a midfield general.

If you are interested in the opinions that people had of Lee Bowyer at the time we considered buying him, you could do worse than use the 'search' facility available on the site. This would allow you to find out SuperDanFans' views on his potential transfer at the time, and avoid cluttering up the forum with another bogus, negative post.

It really wouldn't bother me Adam.  If the man was wearing the shirt, and running his balls off for the team that I love, then I'd back him.

But, like a few others have said above, I'm glad that we didn't, 'cos of the baggage that was associated with the lad.

Er, which forum and forumites are you referring to ? You've posted this several times in other places too. Almost nothing of what you have posted above is representative of my views. Profoundly moronic, even by your own standards.

Well Bob, I did post this in a few different forums before I headed out to work. So I couldn't hang around for the replies.

As for moronic..Really? How?
My proof is as stated. After every match the resultant posts and some threads go on about which players were crap. Each player has come under criticism within the last 30 days. A number of posts have stated the bile that is yelled out at Anfield at players. I take it the posters in here are moronic then? I only put it all together by squad number in a short sweet way.

Now for the rest..
I too, support all those that pull on the Red shirt. I've been accused of being one of the most rose tinted, pro Houllier people on the net. And I don't deny it. One can review everyone of my posts and you won't find me complaining or criticising any player or Le Boss. The proof is in my posts in each forum I post in.

But the exercise in this thread, as moronic as it is, is if you post that a certain player is crap or over time mulitple players are crap..how do you objectively watch those players as the match unfolds? How do you support..Smicer for instance? Moan at each bad pass or yell any support? Maybe you do turn it off when you watch and turn it on when it's time to post and review after the match.

And maybe I am moronic for bringing this all up and I was way off base with it all.. ::)

Any fan/supporter going through the Anfield turnstiles should be there to back the lads to the hilt. No moaning, no booing, no groaning.

We all know that some of our support like nothing more than a good old moan, and to shout and scream insults at the likes of Smicer and Danny. But they shouldn't. End of the matter as far as I'm concerned.
