The more I think about it, the less I understand why May thinks she can just do it without a vote in parliament. This is the biggest political and economical decision the country has faced in decades, and itis going to be forced through by a PM who never faced a general election (and arguably only has the job because nobody else wanted it) on the basis of a referendum that is not legally binding. Can someone explain where the legal basis is?
Decisions like this should need a 2/3 majority vote in parliament imo.
