Dundalk's European run has rekindled my memories of being a ball boy at Oriel Park in the early 80's with an exchange of glass and concrete pleasantries from Dundalk and Shamrock Rovers fans flying over my head. Still, there was the free half time watery Bovril to sustain me.

Be interesting to see if the minnows at Old Trafford can beat one of the 'big boys' of the competition this season - Zorya Luhansk.

Mourinho said "Obviously when you've got such a world-class name such as Zorya Luhansk, all the boys looked scared. I put my hand on their shoulders and assured them that with determination it is possible to beat such players - we just have to hope that our fans are behind us. We will obviously try and keep it tight and see if we can somehow sneak a 1-0 win, then if we can take the game to their ground later in the competition we might have a chance to progress. Obviously being in fourth place, given such amazing clubs we've been drawn against is an accomplishment in itself"

They both went in high, that's factually correct, both tried to play the ball at height.  Doku with his foot, Mac Allister with his chest.

I know this Qabala - Mainz 05 game isn't exactly box-office, but it's a good and very entertaining game :)

2-2 so far, 20 mins left.

Finished with Mainz 05 winning 3-2.
Very good game. Mainz are entertainers alright, that defence is leaky to say the least! Still a bit naive, minute and a half left in stoppage time and they are trying to play someone in on goal and giving the ball away  ???

And Sparta Prague take the lead against Internazionale, 7 mins in.

I know the Champions league is the one to be in, but I do miss the buzz of going to more obscure places like you get in the UEFA cup. The challenges of getting to them and places that you would never really go to apart from going to a footy match.
Bring on the European tours please Jurgen (and quick)  ;)

Sparta Prague now leading 2-0 v's Inter after 25 mins. Been well worthy of the lead as well so far, Inter haven't turned up yet.

Maybe  ;D 5 goals in his 4 first games is an impressive return to be fair. Just the 1 penalty in there too.

First time watching the Mancs this season. Only five minutes in, but the football they're playing so far is much less inspired than ours. You'd expect them to win this game easily, regardless.

Haha! You've based that on 5 minutes at the start of a game after you've never seen Utd previously before this season...

Brad Friedel's commentary is nausiating. Needs to take his head out of Mourinho's arse so he can see the game.

Full strength team for the Mancs too more or less.

Every time I see mourinho it just amazes me what anyone finds charismatic about him. He strikes me as an absolute wankfest of a person and not at all just because he's managed two of our biggest rivals. That comment about punching Wenger was fucking cringeworthy.
