I like Trump, Juud, not Donald.

Virgo mentioned that one of Trump's was a Yankee rather than a double. Anyone know what the difference is?

McLeod leaves Trump in amongst the balls, reds nicely spread, colours on their spots... Trump makes a 16 break. Just about sums up this match :P

Willie Thorne continues to make his commentary about himself, rather than the action. He predicts what a player should do on a monotonously regular basis, then when they do something else, tries to justify his prediction.

Did you see the amazing bit of telestration they did on the Dott / Carter game? They were giving it the big ones about where Carter would put the ball and drew a little white circle on the table. Carter put it about 6 foot away and played a totally different shot. They did this miserable slow mix out of the little circle.

Was appalling ;D

Yep. He was suggesting Carter went into the pack on three separate occasions, Carter didn't, so he came out with some nonsense about "all the top players" and what they would have done; the inference being Carter thus isn't a top player.

(Carter won the frame).

Bloody hell, after those matches this morning, this session is making Robertson look like the greatest player in history.
his opponent is doing that too.

Willie Thorne continues to make his commentary about himself, rather than the action. He predicts what a player should do on a monotonously regular basis, then when they do something else, tries to justify his prediction.

Man's a twat.
hope he didn't gamble much on those predictions.......

Trump should be ashamed of himself with that performance.  It wasn't stellar by any means but that win will mean the world to McLeod.  Well in.

Joint favourite with Selby ;D

Atrocious match.

I didn't watch it except for these last couple of frames but was reading the comments in here about it, which was probably the better option :D

Trump's obviously the better player and more fun to watch but there's something about him that rubs me the wrong way so happy he's out. And fair play to McLeod, big win for him, even though it sounds it was a bit Pulis like.

Bingham having an absolute stinker against Wilson. 5-0 down, probably soon to be 6, and can't seem to hit even the most basic shots properly at the moment.

Got a feeling Ronnie will turn it on for this one. Murphy is a smug twat with a face you'd like to punch and obviously they have previous so I think Ronnie will get his game face on and beat him 13-7 or 13-8 hopefully

Hope so. Unfortunately it seems the BBC are grooming Murphy for a punditry/commentary role, his ugly mug seems to be popping up more and more these days.

Bookies very much on a Ronnie win as Murphy is over 2/1 in places.

Thought exactly that the other day. He is only 34 so a few years off yet.

Their recent additions in my opinion have been awful in Hendry and Ebdon. Hendry can somehow get himself and his career into any discussion between pundits. I just hope they don't invite Ebdon back.

I've only been watching in the night so far and I can't be arsed with the red button so i've been watching the Eurosport commentary so i've luckily avoided Murphy talking. It's worth it just for the marvel that is Jimmy White's hair.

Been a strange start to this tournament.

It has.

Not so many years ago, the pundits were suggesting snooker had become a young man's game.

With Ronnie 41, Dott's re-emergence, Higgins' return to form, and McLeod yesterday, it seems that suggestion isn't so much the case (though McLeod isn't winning it with his awful cue ball control).

Dott impressed me against Carter. That was a high quality match, and Dott was nerveless.

Murphy seems to come out with a best form of defence is attack, but is missing shots & leaving Ronnie in, & Ronnie looks like he's in the mood, so think Murphy might have to change his tactics.

Murphy has always pushed the boat out - his lack of tactical nous and lack of patience have always characterised his game. He is a superior long potter to Ronnie, but just about all other facets of the game, Ronnie is superior.

I don't mind who wins the Murphy- O'Sullivan match. Both are alright and good to watch in full flow. Been a good match so far, high scoring and not much safety play. The snooker version of Monaco-Dortmund if you will.

Yep, Murphy needs to win a minimum a couple of frames after the interval be no worse than 5-3 down, otherwise i think it'll be match over already even though there's 2 sessions left of this match after tonight.
