Kenny wasn't in the Lounge bar and he certainly wasn't socializing with Stevie on that night, Kenny was out with Marina and they saw Stevie and his friends by chance in a restaurant much earlier on in the night.

As for Xerves he keeps dropping the share a ghost writer link in continually when it means very little.

I think it is frankly ridiculous to think Kenny will give the likes of Carra and Gerrard special treatment, ego's will be pricked instantly and everyone will be treated the same. Kenny was a hell of a lot closer to the players when he took over in 85 and had no problems in doing what was necessary.

Kenny is here to manage Liverpool he is risking his managerial record and the fans affection, he will do what he has always done what is best for Liverpool Football Club.

Totally agree.
If Kenny can go from being team mate to manager overnight and be as successful as he was then the fact he's been for a few meals with a couple of he players will be no problem at all.
I firmly believe that Kenny will have a good understanding of what went on in the summer and is the best placed man to eradicate the issue from the football club.
I got the Lucas thing wrong. Will be right on Henderson though. Play him RM, play him CM - Not good enough and never will be.

Picking, and trusting, a ghostwriter is one of the most important decisions that any public figure makes in their career. It shapes the public's perception of you and typically involves hundreds of hours of chat, poring through photos and cuttings, and talking to friends and associates with the subject's permission. It also involves a huge degree of trust, and picking someone who is like-minded.The juicy stuff is invariably not what is included.

You may feel that Winter performing that role to two individuals who have been at the heart of LFC for almost 30 years matters very little. Much that any of us post is opinion. But in this instance I can say that simply you are wrong, it is significant.

Kenny has got barely five months to make an impact. He needs allies quick amongst players to whom largely he is a figure in faded photos and record books. Who do you think he will ally himself with?

No, really this is.

My auntie has been a ghostwriter for some racing drivers and trust me, this isn't true.

It's about a book that's where it ends.

The reports of a complete breakdown in his relationship with key players are false. For example, Rafa called Steven Gerrard on the player`s birthday last Sunday and the pair chatted for 20 minutes.

Interesting post this and it does make sense, as does the OP. The truth is somewhere to be found in the middle cause at the end of the day football is business and has nothing to do with how close someone should be to another or not.

- Just because Kenny is close to Stevie doesn´t mean he will favour him which would be highly unprofessional.

- And just because Stevie and Rafa still have a personal relationsship doesn´t mean Stevie didn´t want him out. It works both ways.

Business and personal realations do in fact have very little in common in our modern world and that´s good cause otherwise we would be living in a mafia-style society.

By the way... how do you know that Stevie talked to Rafa for 20 minutes on the phone? ;)

One thing does need to be said: in the post-Benitez era, there was media-led clamour (but also some politicking going on at the club) to make the club more English; the idea being that the club had lost the very essence of what it means to be ‘Liverpool’. Guillem Ballague 18/11/10

Xerxes - I would have a slightly different view on this. Kenny has 5 months and really nothing to lose. No-one is going to blame him for anything however there are any number of players including Stevie who have 5 months in which they have to make an impact.
Look at the players who are on the wrong side of the FSG "ideal-age/ wage profile; Stevie, Jamie, Joe Cole, Maxi (?), Knoch, Poulsen, Jova, Dirk spring to mind.
Secondly - popular opinion (for what it is) here, at least, has "player power and lack of performance, being a direct factor in the departure of Rafa.
Thirdly - popular opinion in Sky-world (for what it's worth) has player lack of performance being a (one of many) direct factor in the exit of their darling Roy.
I would say it's far more a question of players playing for their careers here than Kenny being under "pressure".
Under pressure to make what kind of mark ?

Kenny will do what is right, not for himself but for the club. That's why he's still loved so much, beyond what he achieved as a player, he's respected for his honesty and integrity.

In his first season as manager, we went to Oxford United away and we drew 2-2. If I remember correctly, Alan Kennedy scored an own goal. Immediately after the game, Kenny bulleted Kennedy and Phil Neal and they never made it back. I am sure whatever decisions Kenny makes, theyll be based entirely around footballing reasons.
