Spearing and Henderson found out. It's not gona work. Great work ethic no quality.
Spearing was found out last year, and very few have given Henderson of turning into an actually good football player.

The NFL season cannot start too soon.

You're taking that lightly, er..... that 'goal' would have made it 2-2 not 5-1. Reckon we would have gone on to win it from there.
But then again we didn't really have any clear chance until Carroll came on.
It was (maybe) a wrong decision but we shouldn't rely on refs to get them all right until they get more help from the governing football bodies.

Thought the same but the ball is over the goal-line from the pictures I've seen and that's disregarding the fact that the camera isn't even in line with it.
Can you see a chink of daylight between the ball and the posts then?  I can't...

I'm fine with the goal/non-goal. Don't think it was that single decision that cost us the cup.

and that was all she wrote.

the season from hell ends in a horribly appropriate manner and now the long and torturous inquest begins.

no doubt it will go from the extremes of "sack everyone" to "with a bit more luck we'll be challenging for the title". let's just hope the people with responsibility take a measured approach and make informed and knowledgable decisions to take us forward.

i don't envy them the task.

Nope. It will take us a good decade, and not with this management team.

we played better in the last 30mins than chelsea did the whole previous 60, agreed? they did not play good football. individually they probably outmatched our players but they weren't good at all lets be honest. other than from stopping us playing. boring, boring chelsea. the only way they can win. hence why they departed with villas boas who tried to get them playing good football but they couldn't coz it simply werent in their nature

they scored 2 goals, this was the reason they won. we very much made our own luck in that respect.

confident we'll win another cup next season.

"The fans of this club, deserve better. "

no, from my time on here and some of the plastic shites i know. we definitely do not deserve better. certain fans do, but the ones who feel like liverpool OWES them a certain amount of success do not. there's a difference between being a fan of the club and a supporter of the club. long live the king. we would of won them if lucas had been there instead of spearing. this is life. no-one was complaining about playing suarez up front last game vs norwich. i think it was a mistake but certainly that played a part in the formation.

There was no robbery, we didn't deserve to win.

Ffs were England robbed v Germany when lampards goal wasn't given to make it 2-2? Of course not. The better side won just like today. For 60 mins we were shocking!!
Were they fuck the better side? They were just as bad as us....worse even!!

If the right descisions were made last summer then we would be in 4th or 3rd. I think we need to bring in atleast 4 players (CDM, 2 wingers and a striker) to challenge for fourth

ship a couple of these players out too. the likes of downing and henderson have done nothing all season to convince me they should be in this team.

still not entirely convinced on andy carol iether.

Carroll was immense, I'm gutted he didn't start, Andy will be awesome for us he just needs a midfield now which we haven't got! he needs better service!!! we miss Lucas something Chronic, and we need a creative attacking midfielder, and decent wingers!!!! sell Downing ffs, how the fuck did he stay on and Bellamy come off?? That's just weird, Downing is crap and always had been, the season can't end soon enough for me.

WHY ARE PEOPLE HAVING A GO AT DOWNING?

he played shit first half but when andy came on he was decent.he kept crossing the ball and had a couple of runs at bosingwa.the left became an outlet for us.

i know he hasn't been good this season but this game he was ok.if anything he's had his better performances in the cup games.

I don't blame that linesman. There's no way he could have concluded if that ball was over the line or not. The technology should be in place to aid with those decisions.

Nothing we can do but try and get on with it.

Well... we were.  The linesman can not be expected to see that, he is only human, but fact is that Carroll put the ball over the line and that should have counted - making the game 2-2.
You sure that you watched the replay? It wasn't a goal..

And when zoomed in, looks like.....

It's so close it still even difficult to call. I would say though, that the attacking team should be given the benefit of the doubt though in these situations.

The traveling fans were amazing. Even when we were down 1-0 and 2-0.
I am a huge Rafa fan. Keep Kenny at least for another season. They play style has been much improved. Its just the results that have not come. Starting over with a new system is not the right idea at this time.

One sad but harsh truth: Before the match started, I knew we wouldn't turn up for the first 45 minutes and with Spearing-Hendo Combo in a cup final, Stevie will come deeper and deeper to fetch the ball. Dint turn up even after the first 15 mins of second half.

First game in the last 6 games against Chelsea we play without Lucas and we loose. Midfield is the key against Chelsea because they always play a lone striker up top and the rest are all midfield runners with good work-rate.

Didnt think Spearing did much wrong when he was on and was brought off just to change the game up a bit and it worked,

Are you Jay's mum by any chance? Stuff he did wrong were: making a complete hash of a pass leading to the first goal, roll out the red carpet for Lampard to set up the second, take about twenty seconds to make a decision every time he received the ball, and find himself on the wrong side of the attacker pretty much every time Chelsea came forward. Things he did right: a nice outlet pass to Johnson midway through the first half.

I like Jay and was pleasantly surprised by him when Kenny came back to the club, but he was riding Lucas's coattails and is clearly not a premier league standard player.

I thought it was across the line. The camera wasn't quite on the line as you can see the slight angle in the replays. Despite that, Chelsea deserved the win. Carroll's performance was a positive, didn't expect that performance from him and hope to see more of it next season. Also very dignified in defeat.

Our fans were great at the end.

Negatives:
-Jay Spearing shouldn't have started.
-The first goal, Pepe should have done better.
-Had enough time to turn it round.
-The FA have shit on us again, through the officials this time.

Positives:
-Andy Carroll is the new Messi.

He's not good enough we need a CDM for backup as well as being able to partner him when we need it.

Can you see a chink of daylight between the ball and the posts then?  I can't...

That's because the camera is not in line. For guidance don't look at the posts, look at the goal-line and the ball is over. But it doesn't matter as I don't feel we really deserved it. Wholesale changes to be made in the next few months and some undeserving individuals shipped out and replaced properly- also wouldnt be surprised at all to see the King step down but that's for another thread.

I think even with goal-line technology and 5 replays, they wouldn't have seen enough to give it as a goal. Unless they can completely prove it was in, then they wouldn't give it.

Our central midfield and first half attitude had far more to do with the defeat than that one call anyway.
