Thrown in at the deep end, he's starting today against Bayern Munich.
Will try to catch some of the second half.

Just caught the last five minutes of first half - seemed to be playing very deep. Anyone see rest of the half?

Watched about 30 mins of it, brutal game to make your first Bundesliga start in. He's looked ok when he got the ball, which was rare cos, well, it's Bayern. Conned a foul and almost a booking from Vidal. I suppose it's hard to tell much other than, as you say, he's sitting very deep, just in front of their centre halves most of the time. I noticed him pointing and shouting a couple of times, which suggests he's a confident lad I guess.

Lads just had an absolute nightmare. Arsing around with the ball in his own box, dispossessed by Thiago who rolls it in to the net for 2-0. Looks off the pace, slow and to be honest a little bit heavy. Harsh game to make your debut in though.

He did fine.

Sadly brain farts for the goalie and him led to a goal.

Otherwise, pretty solid debut. Did some decent work as he and his team got into the game more, couple nice passes and tackles.

But Hertha where just outclassed by the best team in Germany and one of the best in Europe.

Highlights from yesterday. Did OK for a debut against Bayern Munich, (apart from the second goal of course)

He seems to play very deep in this match, I thought he was an attacking player? :o

Looks really composed in that video,he's getting lots of minutes under his belt in the Bundesliga so that bodes well for a work permit in the summer finally.

I'd actually let him stay in Germany for another season. He's evolving a lot by the looks of it, if by the end of the season he's assured of a starting spot. I see no reason to disrupt that.  He just turned 19 in March anyway, there's plenty of time until we need to see him* in  a Liverpool shirt.

I've watched him a couple times now this season and the thing I've noticed about him most is that he works his fucking bollocks off. Could absolutely see him making it here and I think he'll definitely be a part of Klopp's squad as soon as we can get the work permit for him. Could save us another £10-15m by having him come back in to the squad rather than having to buy another midfielder.

Could have some serious competition for places in that midfield in years to come. This lad is only 19, Grujic is only 20, Ejaria is only 18. We've got some promising kids in the midfield positions. Hopefully Jurgen - and I expect he will - can get the best out of at least one of these and develop a world class player.

Were you the one who went to the game?

And yeah, I watched bits of him on youtube, still playing for his youth side in that competition in Asia and he looked like he loved a tackle. There's shades of Mascherano in him, little guy but tough as nails.

Good shout having him stay there another season.

Seems to have solidified a spot there, great league for a young player to develop as well.

Anyone been following Allan's loan? Know if he's got a anymore game time?
I'm not an expert on how work permits work but would those who do think the posibility of a loan to a championship side next season be realistic?

he's not played at all recently. He was away with one of the Brazil teams for a bit. And the last few bundesliga games he's been an unused sub. So he's not played in the league since December.

I honestly can't see him ever being able to get a work permit to allow him to play for Liverpool.  I dont' see how he could play in the Championship, it'd still be under the same UK laws regards permits.

Feel sorry for the guy.

Ended up in Finland and now it's not worked out well in Germany either.

Not sure why the club just didn't loan him out to a Portuguese team this season,no language barrier and slower technical game suited to him no doubt coming from Brazil, loads of Brazilians have started out in Europe in that league.

He came on as a sub against Augsburg last weekend. It is true that he hasn't played much at Hertha this season, but he has still progressed by becoming a Brazilian U-20 international.

His vision, calmness on the ball, passing range and tenacity are there to see, glad he's getting another loan in the Bundesliga next season and hope he gets a work permit as he'd be great for us. Obviously he won't get that much time on the ball in the premier league but his decision making looks pretty spot on

Liverpool will extend Allan Rodrigues de Souza’s loan spell at Hertha Berlin for another season - as long as the Bundesliga outfit qualify for the group stage of the Europa League.

The Reds won’t be able to secure a work permit for the Brazil Under-20s international this summer so they are happy for him to return to Hertha for the 2017/18 campaign.

However, Liverpool want to ensure that Allan, who has only played 15 matches in all competitions this season, will be playing European football. Fifth placed Hertha, who face Bayer Leverkusen this Saturday, will be guaranteed a place in the Europa League if they match or better Freiburg’s result against champions Bayern Munich on the final weekend.

“We’ve lodged our wish to loan Allan for another year with Liverpool,” Hertha sporting executive Michael Preetz told Kicker.

“Principally, the English are up for it, but they would like us to be a guaranteed starter in the group stages of Europa League.”

Playing in European competition next term would bolster Allan’s case for a work permit to play in England.

Rules were tightened for non-European Union players back in 2015. Points are awarded for various criteria including the transfer fee, wages, international caps, the level of the club they are coming from and whether a player has featured in 30% or more of the available domestic league minutes.

Shouldn't we ask hertha for Guarantees he plays at least  30% of domestic games so he fills the criteria we need to get him a permit ? Plus the other criteria neeed ?

maybe they have.

But I guess they are very happy with how its working with him there.  He has played a lot in these last few weeks. He did miss a spell cos he was away with the Brazil team, but he's certainly been involved.  And with them in the Europa - more games to play in, and also he's a year more experienced.  Hertha wouldn't keep him if they didn't like what they saw.

Also Michael Preetz being the sporting director there means that it's likely Jürgen Klopp has trust in his development, being as they are old friends.
