Superb finish, good game overall too.

Also had the knock on effect of stopping us lumping it up as he's no Benteke

I really like him. I was unsure of him when he signed but he's a proper fighter and doesn't give up. He's got good quality on the ball as well and his finish was fantastic.

He deserves a run of starts now.

There's a player in him. Amazing workrate and quality finish today. Keep it up Ingsy.

Looked a real livewire today. Well taken goal, should do his confidence the world of good.

Well played today lad.

Think he'll start on Wednesday which might point towards him not on Saturday. Shame, because him and Sturridge have great potential together.

I swear this guy looks like a caveman, and I felt he wouldn't be a particularly good signing but the more I watch him play the more I like. At least he works hard and shows some spirit. I wish some of the other members of the team would do the same.

He's what we needed last season, still think its a shame we couldn't get him in January but I'm delighted we did bring him in this summer.

He gets credit for his work rate but for me's got the quality needed to go with it, give him chances and he's got the natural instinct to finish them like he did today.  He's a goalscorer, he's put in the hard graft early on in his career to get where he is now and I think he'll thrive for Liverpool.  He's been a bright spot for me every time he's played, even when he was inexplicably stuck out on the left against United, and I was made up for him to get his first goal in front of the Kop.

I really think it will be the first of many in a red shirt.

A breath of fresh air this lad, plays with passion and effort.

Great attitude too, first one over to clap the supporters, mad to think a lot of us wern't happy we signed him.

Hope he keeps getting game time and even better, getting a start.

I really like him, for the pitiful amount of time he's been given he's worked his fucking socks off. I couldn't have been happier for him today - and he celebrated with us, like one of us. It was a treat to be in the lower CT when he stopped after his goal, his face a picture of delight.

Well done Danny lad.

He must start in the cup game. C'mon, what more can he possibly do to deserve a start?!

Well done for the goal, I'm happy for him! He could have had 1-on-1 situation when the linesman called a foul against him, when actually the wind blew stronger, and could have scored another in the end. But that's the thing, chances seem to be always around him.

I'd give him and Sturridge half and half in that game, see if they can get a goal each and really get their seasons up and running.

Borini with talent perhaps.

Good goal today and worked hard. I thought he had messed up his first touch. Shows how much I know.

I still don't think he has enough quality to make much of an impact here though unfortunately.

If he carries on like he has then he'll be a fantastic 3rd choice. He seems to be the type of player that makes such an impression with his commitment and running that he'll really keep Benteke and Sturridge on their toes. Smart signing.

Was made up with him, chased lost causes, great finish for the goal and it seems to mean the world to him to play for LFC. He'll become a fans favourite, all anyone at Anfield wants to see is a player that gives 100% and Ings certainly does that.

It says a lot that we immediately function as a team better when he's on the pitch. He is closer to the player that has served as well in the past - a much better fit than Benteke (when our players see him, they just pump it long).

Well if he is giving you Bellamy vibes he is a must pick really. I missed the 2nd half pretty much as got stuck making dinner but the odd moments I saw with the lad is he wanted it more than the opposition many a time. That drive & determination thrown in with a bit of footballing talent though might make the lad a 1st teamer. Its not quite the fluid, creative god knows what may happen next with Suarez, Sturridge & Sterling but at least with Benteke, Sturridge & Ings all out there at one time we give ourselves the best chance to score some goals.

I sense a cult hero (at the very least) in the making here.

Loving Ings right now. He's the closest we have come to replacing Suarez (ridiculous as that may say sound to some) since her left. Work rate, passion, finishing ability. Ings must keep his place.
