Not moving the ball quick enough..
Too ponderous in possession in the final third..
Only TAA looking to make runs in behind.. buts that's because others can't as they have 11 behind the ball and that too very deep.. Their CB's are literally defending on the toes of their keeper..

Most exciting moment was seeing Can getting felt up in their penalty box..
F*CK 0FF Mourinho..

Woodburn and Can were very good. Stewart's shots were particularly awful though  ;D

When?!
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

Good patience by the young kids.  Not easy breaking down 11 men camped inside 20 yards of their own goal.  Just need that 1 clear cut chance.

That's an odd comment.  Ojo is a really strong kid.

He's looking a bit lightweight to me.....maybe I'm just sitting too far from the TV  ;D

Couple of time he looked like he was being bullied off the ball.

Plymouth have come with one idea: get a replay. Can't blame them or expect them to do anything but put everyone behind the ball. They are in League Two after all. I think we've been alright, we just need a break going our way. Plymouth's shape became a bit more disorganized towards the end of the half, so they are probably tiring. I don't think Klopp will panic and bring on someone straightaway.

Possession needs turned into goals. They're parking the bus a bit.

Wouldn't mind some of the subs having a go. But I like how our younger lads are playing.

Just need a result. Come on red men  8)

The 9-0-1 formation can be a tricky one to get the better of.

It's been an awful watch for the most part, Woodburn's shown some nice touches though.

Just need to quicken the game a little and commit some of the Plymouth players to 1v1s before they get to organise and make it a 2v1. In other words, we need to trust our superior technical ability earlier in our attacking play.
Quote from: Dion Fanning

The chants for Kenny Dalglish that were heard again on Wednesday do not necessarily mean that the fans see him as the saviour. This is not Newcastle, longing for the return of Kevin Keegan. Simply, Dalglish represents everything Hodgson is not and, in fairness, everything Hodgson could or would not hope to be.

Too slow. We need to take more risks. Individually and with our passes. We use the time we get on the ball to take more touches and play it safe and sideways. Exactly what Plymouth want.

Expect the same players to get 10-15 minutes more and then we will start to introduce more senior players.

Played a few nice balls in behind the Plymouth defence to aid crossing opportunities.

Think Ejaria's been really nice to watch, a lot of potential there. Too many weird floated crosses and chipped balls in and not enough quick one touch passing around the box - the latter is easy for Plymouth to deal with. I like Stewart's story, but think he's a pretty meh sort of player. He'll probably never let us down, but I don't think he'll ever reach a level to trouble the likes of Henderson or Can, either.

I think it's encouraging that the youngsters have coped very well with the physical side of it though, with a fairly lenient referee. (Do we ever get any other kind, by the way?)

Trent AA and Woodburn both look something special, don't they?

Need to up the tempo around the box a bit, and a few more passes inside their full back for our full backs to run into, which seemed to work pretty well.

As an aside, did all the Plymouth fans pick up some bad habits when they visited our bitter neighbours yesterday? Fucking handball shouts every time one of our player chests the ball. Just waiting for the boos to commence from them.

It's clear this second string is quite talented, also it's clear they've not played together much as a team.
Also, our set pieces need some serious work still.

Do they even want to play football?

No.

Reckon Klopp will make 2 changes at half time, perhaps Lallana to find the spaces? Of course they will say we had to put out our big guns to get rid of them, but then it's hardly surprising when it's possibly the most defensive display I've ever seen in a football match anywhere.

obviously plymouth are welcome to do as they please, and they were aiming to hold on and then have a late period of aggression and going at us. so it's an important experience/lesson for this young side - you need to show teams like this that it's difficult to just suddenly up your game arbitrarily, they need to earn the right. and i think we will make sure the don't

Cant blame them for sitting back. We are very comfortable just keep it going we will get the break through.
Get a bit more out of Can, Woodburn closer to Origi let Moreno have that left hand side.

We'll need that bit of magic or a mistake from the opposition if Plymouth continue how defend like this. Might be worth getting Sturridge on.
