Best match, best moment of 2016......
« on: December 25, 2016, 12:21:01 pm »
I see the boss just beat me to it on FB.

My best match was the 2nd leg vs Dortmund at home. My best moment was Lovren's injury time winner.

We really went through the mill that night. The whole range of emotions experienced in an epic 95mins.

I don't mind admitting I had tears or joy streaming down my face at full time that night knowing we were the only club that is capable of producing nights like that as we have done so many times down the years. Can't quite figure out how to add a link to it on YouTube from my iPad so hopefully someone will oblige me.

Edit: figured it out. https://youtu.be/8eNOc38SQOA

Merry Xmas all and here's to an amazing 2017!!

What was your favourite match, your best moment of 2016?

Has Steven Gerrard scored a goal even more important than the one he got against Olympiakos - Is this the start of something BIG?

It's hard to remember all of the games but the Everton game is right up there..........you can't beat a last minute winner against Everton.

Our game against Man Utd in the EL stood out but the winner against Dortmund was unbelievable.

The celebrations in the kop were great!

Either the third or the fourth at Arsenal.  Coutinho knocking it in after 40 passes or whatever, while the crowd was singing Poetry In Motion, is hard to beat.

Norwich 4-5 Liverpool. A game that made you age three times over, curse, celebrate and had absolutely everything.

Lallana's bobbled in winner was a fitting end to finish a quite amazing game!

Dortmund second leg was an unbelievable night. The commentator on Five Live lost his voice when Lovren scored the winner.

Woodburn's goal vs Leeds was also a special moment.

Best games: Dortmund, Norwich, Arsenal.

Mane goal vs Everton was probably the sweetest moment though; important in so many ways.

Best game for me was deffo the Dortmund one  :)
Best moment, even though it didn't result in a goal,  was Firmino' spinning turn against Soldado in the Villarreal game... Magic!  8)

Dortmund obviously. Best moment(s) was our end at half time at Old Trafford in the Europa league, the lids in their end and outside with the bizzies and Mancs after the game.  ;D

Definitely the Dortmund game, but I'd say the 6-0 against Villa runs a close second. "A day for the soul." It felt like if we wanted, we never had to stop scoring.

1. Lovrens winner against Dortmund

2. Mane's winner against Everton last Monday

3. Coutinho's goal against United at Old Trafford in the Europa

Best match:

1. v Dortmund, clearly nothing comes close to that, epic in every aspeect

Best moment:

Coutinho's goal against United, the run, the finish, the timing of it, killed any hopes of them getting momentum.

1. Phil's goal at the toilet. Killed them.

2. Origi v Dortmund. Knew it was on then.

3. Woodburn's goal. Just fabulous.

4. Mané v Everton. Hahahaha.

5. Grujic goal v Barcelona. The lad's face.

6. Ojo's goal. Stunning.

Dortmund 4-3 and Lovren's winner are obviously the best match & moment, but massive shout out to Sturridge's goal v Seville in the final.

Stunning goal by a stunning player on a massive occassion. Ronaldinho would have been proud of if. Shame it will be largely forgotten in years to come.

That win away at City was special. After being so tame away from home against the 'Big Boys' in the previous regime. It was nice feeling watching the match.

Yeah that twenty minutes after HT against Arsenal for me.

There was a lot of positivity during pre-season and then that first half we were pretty bad apart from that free kick. Then suddenly BOOM!!
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

Its frustrating that we didn't win the cup at the end, that performance alone deserved it.

All around the Europe League for me. Bitter sweet though.

Dortmund at home was special.
Dortmund away was also special. (Singing don't worry - about a thing).
Utd at home was old school.
Utd away was old school. That half time was hard to describe how good it was.

But then the Final was a bad moment, apart from singing 'There she goes' at half time.

The Dortmund match was not just the best game of 2016,quite possibly the best ever game i have ever seen.
The best moment is a tie between Phil's magical goal at OT,Hendo's superb strike at Chelsea..and Lovren's header of course.
