Oh don't worry, I know  ;)

Anyway, hasn't Origi just said recently he was there early and left late in a bid to get fit.

Let's be honest, the players put in the work set out for them by the club. If that's a few hours a day with rest because that's what will help them recover then that's what they do, if it's long days pushing themselves then likewise, that's what they'll do.

They aren't turning round and saying, nah, can't be arsed coming in today, will see you Monday.

How do you know? It's all guesswork  ;) ;D

Far too many expert pundits seem to think any player selected for the 1st XI must be the complete package the moment they step on the pitch.

Can wasnt brought in to play as many games as he did last season. The fact he did is tantamount to his talent and application even when he ended up in a back three and then right back yet this season under Klopp he has kicked on again.

As for last nights performance? I thought he was stunning in what was a very good team performance. He bossed the midfield like Masch and passed efficiently like Alonso when needed too. If he keeps developing and we can hold onto him we will have one hell of a player.

I wouldn't make him Captain, let him develop and give the guy 2-3 seasons to completely bed-in, if we are looking at someone then I suggest one of the centre backs would be a good option, I think the most interesting aspect will be who he is partnered with next season, we've been heavily linked with Zielinski who is a creative box to box player

He's done a good job there for the German national team under Joachim Löw, but yeah stupid Rodgers hey.

Yeah this is all very simplistic / a reason to ridicule the last manager - he wasn't this good as a central midfielder by a long shot last season especially off the ball - where he's massively improved in the last 12/18 months -  and he is really suited to playing RCB in a 3 (RB was a step to far - that's fair enough!). In fact he's still been playing in defence for Germany hasn't he?
He was excellent last night and he's improving at a scary rate which is great for us

He ran that game for us after a lengthy time out of the game, that for me gives us an idea of how important this guy will be in future years. i also had a little chuckle when he tried to score from about 35 yards out  I thought he was channeling Souness at that point.

Alongside Milner it was an impressive unit all game.

I should have that fella's job.
Here's me on Emre over a year ago...

Emre Can
The story of Emre Can may well be written in the book of footballing greats. He certainly seems to have it all ahead of him. Whether he will be a central defender, a midfielder, or something else entirely, it seems inconceivable that, barring some terrible misfortune, he will go on to be one of the top performers in the game.

Signed from Leverkusen, for just under £10m in 2014, Can has already become an integral part of Brendan Rodgers' Liverpool. His signature was another coup for the reds' transfer committee, it was widely believed that Leverkusen were mainly developing him for sale back to Bayern. His power, composure and technical ability all caught the eyes of the Liverpool scouts, and Leverkusen were made an offer that already looks like a bargain.

Tall, strong and muscular, it is hard to write for long about Emre Can without slipping into unintentional homoerotica. His perfectly styled hair, manly beard and big brown come-to-bed eyes, combined with his sheer quality and athleticism make him something of a superman, something a bit special, something even beautiful. His workrate and skill have made him an instant fan favourite and there seems little limit to what he can achieve. And if the football doesn't work out, he could probably make a lot of money as a porn star.

Like Yesil, Can is German born, but eligible to play for Turkey. A regular in the German U21 side, it seems unlikely that Jogi Loew would let such a prize slip through his fingers, which raises an interesting question. At Liverpool, Can has established himself as one of the wider centre backs in a back three. He has also played in central midfield. Germany usually play four across the back, which means he would probably make his senior debut in an unfamiliar position. He would no doubt take that in his stride, he is a model of German unfussiness after all, but the alternative would be for the World Cup winning manager to re-organise his side around the young prospect.

That would be a bold move, but there have surely been worse ideas than building a team around a man like Can?
Fuck the Daily Mail.

Future German captain lifting at least one international trophy to go with his multiple domestic and European ones in a red shirt and armband. He's huge.

I said this from the outset, he's got it all going for him, I think he's absolutely boss. He will lift the World Cup for them as captain without a shadow of a doubt. I'm just hoping that we can keep him around to lift a few trophies for us. He's absolutely the real deal.

thats why i tend to watch games now with the sound on mute.

Mediocre former players that could hardly train an u6 squad talking all high and mighty about zonal marking and fancy arrows on where the players should be and what passes to make.

It's like a game. The one that spews the most bullshit get the most airtime and longest column. Media nowadays mostly absolute click bait rubbish.
