Wonder how many points will be safe...

I know the teams down the bottom generally get more points the back end of the season but there’s some teams with low points at the moment.

Probably 12.

With the lack of quality this season, I wouldn't be surprised to see 36pts as safe.

Not that its the most logical way to work it out, but if you go on average points so far then there's seven teams projected to get less than 30.....

That is so poor

Got a fiver on Burnley going down, they are dropping back in there, but anyone of 8 look likely contenders so far.

I agree with you and not just because of Rafa, if you can keep Rondon fit for most of the season he should be good for 10-15 goals and that should be enough to keep you up.

Just as someone else has said no way are Newcastle going down. As bad as they've been, there are some truly dreadful teams this season. I honestly think 32 points will be enough this season to stay up and I can conceivably see 6/7 teams with less than 40 points

Fulham, Huddersfield, Cardiff and Southampton are all strong (or weak) contenders

Cardiff and Huddersfield plus another from Palace, Newcastle, Burnley, Southampton and Fulham.  The ones who escape are the ones who do best against the others I feel.  Would love West Ham to be dragged into it as well.

Burnley are up to their necks in it. I've been saying since the end of last season that they were an incredible bet to go down. In terms of expected points for this season, Understat has them bottom of the league by nearly 1 1/2 points. Their xG for is 19th in the league and their xG against is dead last, even worse than Fulham. Man City, Wolves and Leicester are the only above average sides they've played away from home so far too. Cya, Burnley.

I've gone with who I predicted in this thread - https://www.redandwhitekop.com/forum/index.php?topic=340657.0, so Bournemouth, Palace and Brighton.

I could quite easily be wrong on all three, with Brighton the most likely out of my three choices to be relegated.

Oh definitely. And you won't regret your call about Newcastle not going down. No chance. Cardiff are favourites for the 3rd spot.

Burnley & Palace are other sides I wouldn't mind going down, unfortunately they picked up beyond a stage.

Southampton have got some tough games left and only 3 of the 6 are home, Wolves on Saturday, Bournemouth on the 27th, Huddersfield final day, Newcastle, Watford and West Ham are the away games. Hopefully the 5 point cushion is enough from them and Btrighton.

Brighton have gotten themselves into a bit of bother with losing 7 out of their last 10 games. If they lose to Cardiff on Tuesday they are fully in a dog fight with Cardiff and have a worse run in.

If they lost they would be on 33pts with 5 to play and Cardiff would be on 31pts with 4 to play.

These are their remaining games after that Tuesday game

Brighton -

Wolves (A)
Spurs (A)
Newcastle (H)
Arsenal (A)
Man City (H)

Cardiff -

Liverpool (H)
Fulham (A)
Palace (H)
Man Utd (A)

Both difficult but I would say Brighton can maybe get 1-3 pts max out of those whereas Cardiff i could see getting 2-6 pts.

Must win for Brighton on Tuesday and if they win then I think that pretty much seals Cardiff fate.

Down to 4 teams now.

The most Cardiff can get is 40 points from 3 games. Because of the Goal Difference they are effectively not going to catch any other team on 40 points but, on a present basis of safety being 41 points:-

Burnley need 2 points from 12 (hint, hint, they can pick up 3 against City... ;) )
Southampton need 5 points from 12

and the most likely rivals for the drop, Brighton need 7 points from 12 but those games are Spurs (a), Newcastle (H), Arsenal (a) and Man City (H).

strong possibility that the battle between Cardiff and Brighton will go down to the last day of the season (a further 3 points either dropped by Cardiff or gained by Brighton will probably confirm this)

I got Brighton at 9/1 to go down a couple weeks back and I stuck a fair few quid on it. I look at this way, if they dont go down thats great because i think they are a decent team with a decent manager and it means Colin Wanker goes down and his shithouse bunch of players.

If they do go down then Ive won a nice little haul

I think Cardiff will get draw with Fulham, Beat Palace and not sure about the Man Utd game but if they can get 4 points then I think they stay-up as I think Brighton will lose vs Spurs, Draw vs Newcastle, lose vs Arsenal and then City on the last day.

If my predictions are correct these would be the pts going into their last games vs Man Utd and Man City

Cardiff - 35 pts
Brighton - 35pts

Would be a crazy last day as the Relegation Battle and the Title could hinder on that Brighton vs Man City game.
