So far so good. Shame we didn't score more. We certainly deserved to. Keepers kept them in it.

Word of caution though - Expect a reaction from Spurs second half. They're too good a side not to at least show a bit of fight.

It's important we keep our cool, keep our concentration up and under no circumstances let them back into this game.

Bodies on the line stuff if need be. Don't throw this away now.

That's as good a half as I've seen from a Liverpool midfielder in a long, long time from Gini. Brilliant Reds, unexpected and utterly brilliant. Let's go for the throat and kill it early on.

Was really pleased to see our line up when I got back... feels like a lifetime since we've seen that middle+front pair of threes. Didn't expect the effervescent 46 minutes tho. Back to our good stuff again... much needed... and now we have to carry it on. Great to go into HT with that clean sheet.

first time since the international break isn't it? Since Part I of our season. Part II oc course has been a disaster. Is this the start of a dent Part III? I fucking hope so :D

We were dominating at WHL too....

Need another goal and to finish this out with a clean sheet.....

No more woulda shoulda coulda

Not even close to the way we're dominating now. They have no choice - they'll have to go for it in the second half and the pace we have up top could kill them off.

Coutinho looks back to his old self, Firmino has been great and Msne is just... Mane.

Agree mate. I think one more goal will kill it- as long as we don't let Spurs score within the next 15.

Yip I thought we'll still be trying to get back to sharpness in this game, but it seems we're already there now.
I really thought we still have 1 or 2 more games to go before we're back to our best.

Anyway next league game is like 20 days away.

Agree mate. I think one more goal will kill it- as long as we don't let Spurs score within the next 15.

Dembele and Wanyama have been utterly bypassed.... this has really destabilized the back four (along with Mane's speed and great runs) --- quick play by Gini too

Hope we come out and repeat the first 15

The only blot is Taylor. Every time one of theirs gets touched they go down and he blows. Watch how Spurs bump the player after the ball and he plays the non existent advantage (apart from Son which to be fair could have been red)

And watch out for Walker adding ten yards for every throw in

We appear to have rectified the problem we were having with very slow tempo and too much space between the lines. We are not dwelling on the ball, and overall there's plenty of off the ball movement.

At 2-0 we need to start thinking a bit smart and looking at our game management. There's sometimes a temptation to sit back in the 2nd half, but its important that we come out with the same intensity and intent for at least the first 15 minutes or so. Tottenham will then be forced to make some substitutions, and with tiring players they'll struggle to create anything if we park the bus for the last 20-25 mins of the game. We can easily sit and hit them on the counter, but we have to earn that privilege by playing them out of the game for the first hour.

We have substitutes to make the difference too. Origi if we need more pace on the counter, Sturridge if we want to add a clinical edge, and Can if we want more power and physicality in midfield.
