I don't get why they would sit back for this game. There at home and they desperately need the points. Also they have bought some attacking players in January, I would expect them to be more open, which will play into our hands.

Because it works more often than not? Maybe with Firmino, Mane, Coutinho and Lallana all fit and available for the first time in forever we can finally start breaking these teams down but it's been a pretty successful blueprint for getting results against us.
I've just wiped the sticky residue from my bellend onto the television screen. Taste it Leo. You deserve it.
I would honestly let Wijnaldum jizz in my face right now

Except it goes against the principles on the coach they've bought in. He is an attacking coach. You can understand his tactics at OT but being at home, I think he will want to give it a go. Now we  have Mane back I think we are in a better position to play it either way.

Hopefully something like our best team out today.  Another one of those opportunities to take a lead over rivals which we seem to have a habit of squandering.  A return to quick passing and rapid turnovers would be like the first breath of spring.

Fully focused fellers. We need this.

No Lovren or Klavan, Lucas at CB.  Would have preferred Gomez got a chance alongside Matip personally.

Don't really understand Can starting over Wijnaldum either.

Great to see that attack though, hopefully it's enough to break Hull down and get us three points.

Not perfect but Lallana in midfield and that front three back together is great to see.

Front 3 and Lallana in midfield should surely create danger. Hope Coutinho gets a little bit sharper today.

Lucas and Can  ;D

I like it, challenge ourselves.
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

They don't play well together and not as balanced as Gini, Lallana and Hendo combination imo.

Can and Hendo doesn't convince me as a pairing but the front three plus Llanana looks tasty!

Have it lads...!

well, given matip's form since getting back plus the inclusion of lucas alongside him, we are probably going to need 3 goals to win. no chance we don't concede, especially as the game wears on given lucas's fitness and matip looking rusty while managing his injury

Because Gomez was recently out for a year with injury and hasn't been great when he's played?

Personally I think Can in midfield is mainly a problem when he's alongside both Henderson and Wijnaldum, with Lallana in there I'm not so concerned.

The trouble with Can is his best position is where Henderson is playing. And Henderson is still better than him in that position. Can is not a box to box midfielder IMO.

Lucas at CB worries me a little. Part from that starting to look okay again.

Positive is lallana is back in the middle and mane with his pace should help us.

Probably because the game plan is to keep the ball and play from the back and Lucas is better at that than the young CB.
