We have been very good. Wish we could have taken advantage more of City's defence, which is there for the taking. City will now come out of the second half all guns blazing but I think we can handle them. Klavan has been excellent considering he got booked at 6 mins into the game. My man of the first half.

Excellent  8)

The Firmino elephant in the room is still looming large though.
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

Two huge chances he had and fucked them both  :(

Hopefully we don't rue them but City not offering much either.

Turn it up. Not too bad.

Great header from a great cross. We seem to be playing within ourselves. Step it up a gear and get a second, coast the rest of the game.

Only disappointing part of that is we've not taken a couple of chances for the second. City looked like they were falling apart under the press for periods of that half. Hope we can keep it up for the second and finish them off.

I think its a measure of how far we've come under Klopp but I was disapointed with us in the final 3rd of the field. Don't think we really clicked. Great in midfield and defence but feel we can step up a couple.of gears.

Great header for the goal

The better side deserving of the lead. You can see the quality of both teams the top four in this division are head and shoulders above the rest.

Containing them really well but feels like it's a risky strategy. One lapse in concentration and they'll be all square. Like to see us go at them a bit more to get a 2nd but saying that we've been inches away a couple of times from being in on goal.

As expected, the ref is a muppet.

Come on Redmen.  See it through!

More of the same in the second half and a bit more fluidity in the final third and we can be very happy with this performance

It's tense and very tactical. Both teams are being nullified by the press but Man City are far more open than ourselves which led to the goal on the counter. Keep it tight and there should be plenty more opportunities like that.

Love how we are targetting Yaya.

Sterling is wank.

Klavan has been incredible, especially considering his early yellow.

Feel as if we're saving our energy for later on when we'll really press them high and force them into mistakes, which they've always looked like doing at the back. We're a bit deep and allowing them too much possession, but I'm sure we'll get more opportunities as the game wears on. Sturridge and Origi off the bench are fantastic options to have as well.

Solid performance so far. There are times when we can counter-attack. If we can keep this up, we should get opportunities. Great goal!

Should be up by more given we've managed to cut them apart once or twice, but I'll take this for now. We just can't lose our cutting edge though and we really need that second goal to really open up the game. Our players have been running themselves into the ground. One can only applaud the effort. Come on Reds... another 45 and a win. Please fucking win.

Funny game...

Klopp has out tinkered Gaurdiola with the formation so far...

City will score though, some great diagonal balls by them, and Sterlings pace is a threat.

I don't think we've played our best football even though every later has worked damned hard.
