Well done Guardian. Coverage and updates were miles ahead of SSN and BBC Sport.

Good coverage from the Guardian / Busfield. Surprised the Beeb weren't live blogging too - they'll do text coverage of Andy Murray's first round matches in whatever tinpot tournament he happens to be playing in, but seemingly can't be arsed for something like this. It says how much interest there was in it that the traffic crashed the Guardian website.

From "The Guardian"

   from the guardian

2.18pm: There's a very nice thread running on the RedAndWhiteKop website: Thank you Guardian. Well, thank you to all who have read/commented/emailed/tweeted/contributed to this blog.

Is the end of this saga in sight?

I'm betting there have been more than a few converts to Twitter during the takeover saga - so many great accounts to follow. Unfortunately, there's so much to follow that it's difficult to get any work done :)

Agreed - a reliable source of all the pertinent information over the last 3 days for me, and the best single point of contact to know what's going on whilst you're at work (RAWK only when I'm at home though!!)

Good mix of all the best tweets updates, reporters, court coverage, expert opinion etc.
Also had the decency to selectively print the best emails (of which there must have been thousands!!)

They've hoovered up a lot of info from around the web and sorted through the crap for us!!

I've been using that and Twitter as my primary sources during the day and here and Twitter in the evenings. Well done lads and lasses at the Guardian - show those Red Tops how it's meant to be done!

To be fair to Dan Roan, he has to present updates on BBBC News channels too. Plus he was tweeting well into the late hours etc.....

As mentioned by earlier poster. I discovered the true benefits of Twitter this week.

It's a great example of what news coverage actually should be, and a great example of online journalism.  Now, if they can just house-train Barry Glendenning and stop their LibDem cheerleading, their redemption will be complete.

They've been brilliant.

I felt on Tuesday that it was a shame the UK courts don't have TV access - but I don't think we've missed a thing with The Guardian's MBM and various twitter feeds from the likes on Panja & Roan.

It's been the best match thread in years.  Who'd have thunk it - a 4-day MBM about a bloody court case.
