Get Origi on down the left to trouble Fernandinho.
Then in the midddle out pops a smiling glen johnson pulling up his jersey to reveal a t-shirt of suarez with a text saying. "OUR SUAREZ IS A FRIEND TO ALL COLOURS!"

Oh and City fans booing Milner in a half empty stadium. Knobheads.

Yeah that is proper weird. He's gotten a better reception earlier, no?
And it isn't 10 people, it's very vocal!
Really thought Martin Kelly would make it.

I'd take a draw at this point to be honest. Our defendece looks panicked anytime they come at us and they're causing us real problems down the flank, Sane is a real threat. Up the other end Firmino and Coutinho look bang out of form, so while I expect we'll get a few chances I don't see who is going to put them away...

Where do you start with this ref?! Should've had a pen each (Gini and Sterling), Can and Fernandinho should both have yellows, Firmino (not even a foul)  and Matip shouldn't, Toure should have been sent off.

If you need to see a replay 2 or 3 times, and slowed down, then it cannot be a stonewall pen (either of them).

Should only be given if ref is sure, and he could be with neither of those.

Still wide open game. Crazy there's been no goals so far. Both defences are so suspect.

Wonder why Coutinho seems so off form. I hope he wasn't rushed back before he was ready. That chance he had from the edge of the box, quite disappointed he didn't even get it on target for somebody of his ability

I think if he was rushed back before he was ready, he would have had a recurrence of his injury by now.

Hardly, how on earth has Sterling got a run on him so far ahead. That's their big tactic, quick move down the flanks and hit across the goal. We don't seem to have an answer for it.

Aguero gets Matip booked.
Silva gets Firmino booked by rolling around.

Can should have made more of Toure. Sad to say but thats the way it works.

City are getting in too easily. Can't see them not getting on the end of these low crosses across at some point and putting one in.

Not sure how we stop them doing it mind. It's what they're setup to do. And they've got great players to execute it.

We need Firmino and Coutinho to step up, both been poor. Mane our only threat in the front three.

Get Origi on down the left to trouble Fernandinho.

Origi is most effective when you are protecting a lead as his first instinct is to take the ball towards the corner flags..

Agree fully.. similarly, Can just got up after being kung-fu kicked by Toured, which nearly took his head off.. but the young German just got up straight away.. a bit smarter and there would have been more pressure on the twat of a ref to maybe give more than a yellow..

Yep, compare that with Aguero's death throes after feeling contact from Matip.

City are getting behind us to easily but we still have another level to step upto.

We've been very laid back so far, if we start pushing at their back four a bit more then they'll start to show signs of crumbling.

Coutinho is still massively off the pace, as if Firmino.

I'm not getting the hate for Oliver, to be honest. This is maybe only the second match all season where I've felt like we've gotten away with it a bit. He's not made perfect decisions but they've evened themselves out, IMHO.

Henderson would be right in Oliver's grid if he was playing.

Agreed he was all over the ref in that Spurs game, that is definitely something we lack.

That was never in a million years a penalty on Mane. Very unlucky for him, that his foot knocked into the player behind as he was winding up to shoot, but you can't give a penalty for the attacker accidentally kicking the defender, for goodness sake.

Otamendi stops him from scoring, its a foul and a pen. Mane is in front and is impeded. If someone accidentally clips someones heels on the wing its a foul, if its in the box its still a foul.

Was a blatent penalty on Sterling too, really lucky with that one

Is that an opinion, or the actual rule? I'll admit mine is an opinion, but inhibiting a shot on goal seems like it should be a pk, inadvertent or not.

Sane is a fucking demon. He seems to play like Silva with some superb one-touch passing but has some ridiculous pace to go with it. Clyne doing well to stay with him and deal with the problem. Coutinho should have at least hit the target when he was left 1v1 against Fernandinho. He did the hard bit leaving Fernandinho for dead but the shot was over the bar. There's a game to be won here for us. City are tiring. Now we need to make it count.
Quote from: Dion Fanning

The chants for Kenny Dalglish that were heard again on Wednesday do not necessarily mean that the fans see him as the saviour. This is not Newcastle, longing for the return of Kevin Keegan. Simply, Dalglish represents everything Hodgson is not and, in fairness, everything Hodgson could or would not hope to be.

I thought he did ok, Sane has had his moments but so has Clyne. A good battle between them.

Yeah he's done okay, intercepting well but when he's been one on one sanes got the cross in every time. Shame we don't have anything for clyne to aim for in our box

Can deserves a mention as well, he's been solid and very committed, though he does perhaps go to ground a little bit too easily. Wijnaldium's been very tidy too, apart from that very unnecessary foul(s) on Fernandinho.
