Well in Ayala - no mean feat for a defender to win a player of the year award (usually the glory boy forwards or attacking midfielders get it).

Be good to see how he does in the Prem next season.

Would've been more surprising if a forward won it playing in an Aitor Karanka team  ;D They're dull as fuck, they're going to bore everybody to death next season.
