youth game is on the same day at 4pm at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Georgi_Asparuhov_Stadium  which is  20 min drive with taxi from the national stadium --very cheap about £3 max  ..gives you plenty of time to get back and drink more  as the other game is not till 21.45 pm

That said been to Crosspointpub and its pretty good there too, but expect to be jammed packed in there  as very closed to the ground

Went to this bar when we played Levski Sofia in March 2004 and had a great time, decent price and close to the ground, stayed there until the early hours after the match

Went back when we played CSKA Sofia in August 2005, it was ok until a few locals came in, once they knew we were from Liverpool, they made it clear in no uncertain terms that we had to leave, started giving us grief about Michael Shields, as we left the stragglers in our group got spat at and punched in the back of the head.

Don’t think I’ll be going back there this time, unless it’s under new ownership

Guys as I said before if you go to http://jjmurphys.bg/ pub  ..it's gonna be full of liverpool fans from UK and BG as they have arranged to meet there. A lot  of em are planning to go to the champion youth game too.
Any thickets that anyone has spare bring em in as there lots of Bulgarian reds that want to buy them as the club didnt allocate enough to meet the demand. I know  the owner of  the place and I promise you he wont put prices up. Stick to local pints as they are much cheaper then the foreign beers and they are pretty good. Has a nice garden for smokers and atmosphere will be buzzing as every time  I have been there with the local reds it has been non stop singing.
This is the place to go definitely! Will be buzzing all day and everyone walks to the ground from there before the match. Takes about 15 mins.  8)

This article from the Independent might help

You could buy Bulgarian currency – the lev – in advance, but frankly it would be a waste of money; you will get a far better rate for Sterling once you arrive in the country. Take £5, £10 and £20 notes – £50s are regarded with suspicion abroad. Pre-paid currency cards offer a degree of added security, but you will be paying exchange charges as well as an ATM fee if you use one abroad to withdraw cash. Should you happen to have some euros left over from a previous trip, take them – prices for hotels and car rental are often expressed in euros, and the euro/lev exchange rate is keener than the pound/lev rate.

The good news is: whatever form you choose to take your currency in, you should not need much of it. Bulgaria offers the cheapest beachside living in Europe. (The only cheaper large country is Serbia, which is landlocked.) One more word of advice: spend the three-hour plane journey learning the Cyrillic alphabet. Being able to read street signs and understanding, for example, that PECTOPAHT means "restaurant", will make your holiday much easier.

Will add this as well

http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Attraction_Review-g294452-d2369339-Reviews-The_New_Sofia_Pub_Crawl-Sofia_Sofia_Region.html

Don't do what i did in Prague and change the money on the street. I got a load of old Bulgarian money that was worth jack sh*t check out what the notes look like before you change your hard earned pounds/euros or whatever other currency you are changing.

It's a basement bar, Murphy's is better atmosphere. Nobody will punch you this time, as Ludogorets is a team from a small town 4 hours away from Sofia and fans of CSKA and Levski (only 2 big clubs in the country) hate Ludogorets as they came out of division 3 and became champions 3 years in a row, just because one of the big oligarchs in Bulgaria invested in their club. Hundreds Bulgaria reds will be in JJ Murphy's before the game.

Ordered 4 seperate lots - 3 lots on 1st day of sale and 1 when it went down to 1 away this week.
First ones to come....the ones ordered last, they arrived yesterday and then today 1 lot of 4 arrived
They make it up as they go along. Still waiting on a 4 and a 3. The only thing surprising is we are surprised when they dont arrive within a day or so of buying them,  :butt

Does anyone know someone who needs a spare?

Your best bet is moving it on to a Bulgarian red over there I would think. They'll be a lot with tickets for the home end that would rather be in the away end. Whenever I've been to a game in the old eastern block there's always a lot of locals trying to get away tickets. Seems to be a lot of people with spares.

Thanks for the offer the other day Dave, if I see you over there I'll get you a beer

Anyone know how many rows there are in the block? Also, what is the difference in view between the two prices, anyone know?

Ahh shit, a mate and I have been planning on going to this as thought we would get tickets with having Madrid away on the cards. Anyone got any guesses how likely it might be to pick up a couple of spares for the Liverpool end whilst we're over there?

Due to advice from the authorities, please don't use RAWK to facilitate European away ticket exchanges. Thanks.
Just a note on European games:

"Tickets are non-transferrable and must not be passed on to anyone else. Random security checks may be carried out on the turnstiles to check your tickets. All tickets purchased are ultimately the responsibility of the supporter who purchased it.If the ticket has been purchased by a different person, the holder of the ticket and the purchaser may be subject to further investigation by the club that could ultimately result in the club pursuing a ban for each person involved from purchasing tickets for future LFC games. Each case will be viewed on its individual merits."

There will therefore not be ticket exchanges posted for Euro away games.

Don't forget the thermals,5 degrees top temperature in the day & could be minus 2 during game, not as bad as Zenit but still bloody cold...
