Any recommendations for craft beer bars?
To be fair mate, there's far too many to mention.  And the list is ever growing.

Liverpool city centre is a proper mecca for real ale drinkers these days. It's probably the best in the country for the density of ale pubs, all within walking distance of each other.

You'd be better checking out the Liverpool Camra site.

Shout out to the place I work in, The Dead Crafty Beer Company on Dale Street.  We've just won best Pub/Bar in Liverpool and our beer range is pretty insane.  It's not Wetherspoons prices, but we've got some absolute killer beers.  Most of the lads behind the bar are reds as well (the owner is a blue sadly, but he's outnumbered).

If you pop in, tell them Ben recommended it to you (I won't be there sadly, on jury service at the moment).

Over for Chelsea game next week, anywhere decent in town on a Tues/Wed night ? Been a couple years since I was over midweek. I know it's unlikely to be "busy" as such but Seel St direction still best bet ?

Was in this wee place after the Sunderland game in November, great spot.

Can anyone recommend anywhere this Saturday afternoon to watch the early kick off game Arsenal vs Hull that does craft beer and food in town?

It's not, it's a secret bar so the website is designed to trick you.

The number is 0151 233 2008.

Lines open between 12-4 I think and even then can be a nightmare getting through but keep trying, that definitely is the number.

Edit: Just realised the original post is from 4 months ago, let's hope he wasn't relying on us two and found it somewhere  ;D

Hello,

I’ve been awarded the role of tour guide of an upcoming trip, and would appreciate some pointers. Restaurants/real ale pubs have been ticked off, but now looking for suggestions for

•   “Character” boozers; type day-time karaoke and probably average age on the high side. Little rogue is fine, but not much off a fighter so to speak..
•   Cocktail-bar type of thing;

Group being couples in 40’s; done with flanagans but not film stars/celebrities either ;-)

cheers

Including, in the past, a bloke in a Batman suit singing Sinatra.

The Globe next door is a decent old boozer, without karaoke but decent background music.

Plenty of old pubs in the Dale Street area, Rigby's, Lion Tavern (being refurbed at the mo). Worth having a look on the beerintheevening website.

Ah. Gonna miss that place.

It was one of the few actual Irish pubs, as apposed to the many plastic Irish pubs in town.

Staffed and run by Irish, always full of Irish, showing wall to wall Irish sports.   Ya gotta love the place.
..... and the Guinness wasn't bad either.  ;)

As said.  No doubt it will be some new gentrified shit, soon enough.  :butt

What are you looking for?

Just looking somewhere with a decent atmosphere which has a good range of beers to chill with a few mates - we are all in our 30s.

Don't wanna go anywhere where I will have to queue for ages to get a drink but don't want to go anywhere that's gonna be empty if that makes sense.
