New 6-part comedy starring Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon starts on Monday (1st Nov). Looks very good.

Fan of all things Coogan. Well, nearly all things. I went to see his last live show which I thought was well below par for a guy who set the bar absurdly high in the 1990s with things like Knowing Me Know You, The Day Today and the first series of I'm Alan Partridge plus his earlier live stuff.

This looks a real treat and allows the two to bounce off each other.

Can't wait.

Yes, it was in Canada I think. It's being released (internationally) as a film in the New Year.

Enjoyed that more than I expected to. Loved them having an impressions battle.

For the record, think Brydon got Caine spot on and Coogan was close but a little off.

Loving the first episode.

I like that fly on the wall feel to it. Also think that some of this is improvised. As in the sequence about best impressions. It looked like Steve Coogan was going to burst out laughing at one point.

Looking forward to the second episode.

Wasn't expecting much from the previews in the papers, but tuned in anyway and really enjoyed them both quietly chipping away at each other in their own way.

The Michael Caine-off was really funny.

they were doing that on bbc breakfast the other day as well. didn't listen much though 'cos of my obsession with susanna reid

It is, except I didn't have the sausages, so I'm just using some standard toast fingers instead. Which, while not meat based, are still quite scoopworthy.

My throat is hurting from laughing so much after that, absolutely fantastic.

Their Ray Winstone snot drink bit was amazing, Rob's Stephen Hawking impression was spot on too.
