First - not entirely sure as I unfortunately went out in Bootle more when I was younger and probably ended up going into town one of those nights. I'd say it could well have been The Grafton.

Worst - The Office, Camel Club, FunkyBox, what's the one above Boogie Nights in Matthew Street? That's a bad'un. All of them just have music that is not my thing and if I somehow end up in one of them, I just find myself standing at the bar with a face on me. Although I enjoy the music in there, I'd maybe throw the Krazyhouse in the list too, due to all the oddballs in there, the kip of the bogs, the smell of sweaty chips everywhere and the stickiness of everything in the place. Oh, and the spirit measures are a disgrace. As I say the music saves it.

Best - Bumper, Bar Ca Va, LaBateau, Jacaranda, Heebies, Mojo, Old Skool and The Pilgrim. All have good music, little amount of dickheads and a good atmosphere. Only thing I don't like about Mojo though is that it's far too crammed in there.

All those things make it brilliant!

Between the ages of 16 to about 19/20 I lived in the place. Was there every Saturday and plenty of Thursdays - hangover in school Friday morning was standard. I knew so many of the regs in there I could have gone on my own, I knew so many faces  in every little nook and cranny the gaff has. Brilliant times in there.

First place I ever went to was the Superstar Boudour when i was 16 and it made such an impression that I've never been back since, the worst is defianately the one4 think I kept me eyes fixed to the floor the whole time I was in there so I wouldn't make eye contact with anyone. Me favourite would have to be the Jac although its not a club but it has the best atmosphere and a jukebox so you can put some decent music in though most of the music played in there is rather good, only downer is the state of the toilets I've made a bet with me mates that I'll give them £20 if they have a shit in there (I made that bet about a year ago and still haven't had to pay out).

boss the jac in ther every satdee with the lads, used to go the k all the tym wen i was 16, 17, stil occasionally wen i was 18, now its le bateu mojo etc, mojos good apart from the stupid prices. the picture house dus a reli cheap pint, has all the games on too.

True story Terry. My uncle's brother ran The She in the 70's and got jailed for having live sex shows there!  :D
That doesn't surprise me one bit.
I used to play there in the early 80's and the dressing room always resembled a porn set.  :D

I like Mojo its just its always proper chocker, which puts me off going. Was in there on a Tuesday a couple of weeks ago and it was quite quiet so could get a table and stuff got a nice bottle of cider I can't remember what brand it was but it went down well was expensive though.

Late 80s I was in a college class with Peter Coyle and he was mortified about that song. I told him not to be so soft - it's ace!

Ahhhhh! the Cherry Tree now thats a blast from the past! used to go there with all the girls on a fri night early 80's- we'd get a taxi home and see how many we could pile in- think 9 was the record with 2 lying flat on the floor!
Also used to go the straw hat in Runcorn but that was quite wooly. Another place up by a canal I think was called the Number one?!

Best place down that end was the Cassies in Halebank- great music in late 70's and early 80's.

I'm made up to see this thread I started still going strong!  ;)

Another source of entertainment we used to visit was The Riverside Club near Southport. It was impossible to get to without a car or paying a £1000 in a cab, but by christ it was full of birds - some of the rough, but still the women out numbered the lads.
It was actually part of a caravan site I think, but was literally in the middle of nowhere. We used to go this country boozer nearby to get warmed up first - which was pretty hard considering there was about 3 people in the entire place!

Ah happy days though!  ;D

Being an ol geezer, I was going to nightclubs in 'pool in the late 60's.  My first club was the Victoriana in Victoria Street. I was 15 and was still wearing my blazer (being a mod, it was a barathea - with a nice badge), grey slacks, flapjack shoes, ben sherman shirt etc.
I took a girl there, sh*t meself when I was trying to get in but they were desperate then to fill the club so let us in without a second look. Problem was - I'd never ordered a drink at a bar before and didn't know what to ask for - so I listened to what the girl in front of me asked for and copied her. I have never touched rum and black since..... :(

Most frequented - Babaloo

Favourite - the Cabin.

Worst - the one above Reeces.

The best fun (;)) - Thursday's 'Grab a Granny' night at the Mardi Gras - sadly, my eldest daughter would now be classed as a Granny :(

First - The Aquarium

Worst - anywhere in Concert square! fukin awful,     if i had to pick one, it would probably be the Arena!

Best - Society 2004 - 2007   best club i have been to (excluding pacha)  the fuk off cue to get in     getting to the door and shitting yaself because everone was getting the nock!!  then the buzz when you got in!       Then making your way downstairs to find wall to wall stunners.  The atmosphere was fukin boss!  Boss Tunes, Boss Birds, Boss Vibe!     never once saw a kick off in there during the early years.       It all went downhill when they started getting lax on the doors and the tunes went abit too deep!    towards the end it was full of dickheads and rough arse county road slags.

Garlands was also quite good, but nowhere near as good as Soci in its heyday!   (also met my bird in there as well)

Brian is the old fella, apparently him or his family have owned the place since the 1950's! I can honestly say in 15 years of going the Cabin, I have never seen any aggro in there at all - they dont even have bouncers!
It's a shame nowadays as downstairs rarely opens but it's still a top, top place!

First - The Aquarium

I only went to the Aquarium once when I was 17 and it was where I met my eventual wife. It was awful in there though. A few places I go to or used to go to could fall into all three of the listings on occasion!
